After a long personal journey with endometriosis, Tanné Snowden set out to find bodycare products that were both effective and hormone-safe, only to discover a glaring gap in the market. The solution? Create her own. Today, Tronque’s luxe, non-toxic formulations are redefining bodycare from the neck down in Aotearoa and beyond. Read on as we speak to Snowden about resilience, modern wellness and how Tronque balances efficacy and indulgence to usher in a new wave of clean beauty.
In conversation with Tanné Snowden:
Let’s get up to speed. Tell us a bit about you and your career to date.
I’ve always been drawn to creative, visually led industries from working in art galleries to real estate, where I became fascinated by how people interact with beauty, space, and emotion in their environments. I’ve worked across brand strategy, content, and design, with a strong focus on storytelling and aesthetics. At the same time, I’ve had a lifelong curiosity for how things operate behind the scenes. I started working from a young age and always knew I wanted to build something of my own. That blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset naturally led me to launch Tronque, a brand where I could bring all those passions together.
What inspired you to create Tronque, and how did your personal experiences shape its development?
Body care, to me, is a deeply personal ritual of self-respect, healing, and connection. It’s not just about skincare, it’s about honouring the body that carries me through life, especially after all it’s endured. After years of dealing with illness and recovery, body care became my way of reclaiming power and presence. It’s a daily reminder to care for myself holistically, from the outside in, with products that feel beautiful, perform powerfully, and align with my values.
Tronque was born through my struggle with her reproductive health. While recovering from my second endometriosis surgery in 2019, I learnt about endocrine disruptors in our skincare and how they can mimic hormones. I investigated my daily skincare regime and was shocked to discover that these products from well-known global brands contained harmful ingredients proven to disrupt human hormonal systems. I then ditched my harmful beauty care to search for an alternative. A refusal to compromise on safety and efficacy led me to instead develop Tronque.

The bodycare category often feels like an afterthought in the beauty world. What do you hope Tronque helps people rethink about how they treat their skin from the neck down?
Many luxury skincare brands focus almost exclusively on the face, but the reality is, our bodies deserve the same level of care, attention, and innovation. The skin below the neck accounts for over 85–90% of our total skin surface and plays a vital role in protection, detoxification, and overall health. Yet, it’s often overlooked in our daily routines.
At Tronque, we believe that science-backed, high-performance ingredients shouldn’t stop at the jawline. Your body deserves clinically effective, non-toxic formulas that nourish, protect, and visibly transform. Whether you’re addressing stretch marks, post-surgical scars, hormonal changes, or everyday dryness, the body has unique needs that deserve targeted, intelligent solutions.
We’re here to elevate body care into a ritual of self-investment, not just basic moisturization, but intentional, luxurious, full-body skincare. True luxury is taking care of your whole self. And with Tronque, we’re proud to help make that the new standard in beauty.

The brand is rooted in clean, clinical-grade ingredients, while also feeling incredibly luxurious. How did you strike that balance between efficacy and indulgence?
That balance has been at the heart of Tronque since the beginning. I didn’t want to create products that just ‘did the job’ or ‘felt good’ I wanted a different experience where true results are delivered with an elevated experience. So much of the beauty industry still separates the two: you either have a highly active, clinical formula that feels medicinal, or a beautifully sensorial product that doesn’t deliver much beyond hydration. With Tronque, we were determined to prove that science and indulgence can and should coexist.
We begin every formulation with results in mind. The ingredients we use are clean, clinically studied, and chosen for their ability to target real concerns like firmness, elasticity, scarring, and hydration. But just as much care goes into the sensorial side, texture, absorption, even how it glides on the skin. I want every application to feel like a small moment of luxury.
Take the Triple Active Body Milk: it’s packed with high-performance actives like caffeine complexes, hyaluronic acid, and collagen-boosting peptides, but it feels featherlight, almost like a milky serum and leaves the skin incredibly soft and radiant. It was important for us to create something that delivers real change and elevates the everyday ritual of body care.

Who or what is inspiring you creatively at the moment?
Right now, I’m most inspired by the tension between discipline and sensuality, how structure can still feel soft, and how minimalism can be deeply expressive. I find endless inspiration in strong, visionary women like Phoebe Philo for her quiet authority and the way she redefined modern femininity through design. I also love how Sofia Coppola creates entire emotional worlds through mood, color, and restraint.
Books are always a huge source of creative energy for me. I just reread The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion. Her writing is so precise, so emotionally honest, it resets my brain. I’m also loving Gabrielle Bernstein. Beyond all that, nature is my grounding force, especially coastal landscapes and the way light changes throughout the day. Even the color of the sky at golden hour can inform a packaging decision or a fragrance note.
How do you find work/life balance in your career? Is there anything you do to de-stress or prioritise your own wellbeing?
Work/life balance is something I actively design rather than hope for, it doesn’t just happen, especially when you’re building something from the ground up. I’ve learned that boundaries are essential, not just for preserving my energy, but for keeping creativity alive. I’m fully immersed when I’m working, but I’m now intentional about switching off, where I did not used to be. I carve out space in the mornings before I open my laptop whether it’s a walk without my phone, or a moment of skincare that’s just for me.
When I feel overwhelmed or disconnected, I come back to simple practises such as breathing exercises, even just putting my feet on the earth, it sounds simple, but it recenters me quickly. I remind myself that wellbeing isn’t something I “earn” after a full inbox. It’s the foundation that makes my work possible in the first place.

How would you describe your personal style, and what influences it the most?
My style is rooted in contrast, I crave structure, but I love softness. By day, I gravitate toward relaxed, effortless pieces that still feel polished: wide-leg trousers, crisp shirting, or a perfectly worn-in tank. But at night, I really lean into dressing up. I love the ritual of it, slipping into a silk dress, adding a bold eye or sculptural earrings.
My personal style is deeply influenced by the effortless glamour of 1960s and 70s film icons, women like Virna Lisi, whose elegance felt both restrained and magnetic. I’m drawn to that era’s balance of softness and structure. There’s a quiet confidence in the way those women dressed and that’s something I always try to channel in how I show up, both personally and professionally.
Ultimately, I dress how I want to feel. Structured for my body shape, undone when I need freedom. I like pieces that move with me but still hold shape. I’m influenced by setting, by mood, by scent even. Style, for me, is another form of storytelling, it reflects where I am, what I need, and who I’m becoming.
