This year, the Fashion Quarterly team celebrated the end of a busy 2024 in true style, embarking on a Christmas party like no other. Our morning began with coffees (flat whites with oat milk, of course) outside Bivacco while we eagerly awaited our ride. Soon, our stunning transport arrived, gliding effortlessly into Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour. Within minutes, we were aboard LussoMare’s luxury Wally 43 dayboat, ‘Bella Vita’, ready for a day of sun, sea, and celebration. Destination: Waiheke Island.
The Journey
We couldn’t have asked for a more glamorous start to the day. As we cruised across the Waitematā Harbour, the seamless blend of comfort and aesthetically pleasing design redefined the concept of a commute.
With eight team members on board, we soaked in panoramic views of the harbour, champagne in hand, while the expertly trained crew attended to every detail. From its plush seating to its impeccable service, LussoMare made it clear why they’re quickly becoming Auckland’s go-to for premium water transport. Upon arriving at Waiheke’s Kennedy Point Marina, we made our way to the picturesque Tantalus Estate, a setting that felt as though we’d stepped into a Tuscan vineyard. From delicious seasonal fare to a crisp glass of Rosé, every moment captured the essence of a quintessential New Zealand summer.
Fit Checks & Social Glam
No FQ event would be complete without a touch of style, and our team delivered. Fit checks on the boat were as chic as they come, with outfits (predominantly showcasing our favourite New Zealand designers) perfectly curated for the day. Our captain added an extra layer of thought into the experience by pulling into a secluded bay on the return journey, allowing us to capture photos and videos. It was in these moments, surrounded by turquoise waters, that LussoMare’s exceptional service truly shone. The only regret? Not bringing our swimwear for an impromptu dip!
As we glided back into Auckland, happily satiated, it was clear this bespoke boating experience had elevated our celebration to new heights. The ‘Bella Vita’ isn’t just a mode of transport—it’s a stylish destination in itself, and one we won’t soon forget.
