FQ’s publisher and editor in chief Sarah Murray trials the Shark beauty stylers and reports back with her findings.

The best thing about this styler is how easy it is to use — the auto-wrapper curler wraps, curls and sets the hair. Your only job? Direct it to the desired area. Once Sarah’s thick hair was curled all that was left was to brush the curls out with a paddle brush and set to one side. Image: Guy Coombes.

To say I’m time poor in the morning is an understatement. With three kids to get ready for school and daycare my morning routine generally consists of a 5 minute shower, and a 5 minute make-up routine. It’s my hair that suffers. Most mornings after I’ve washed it, I let it dry naturally. It takes on a sort of unruly dishevelled appearance which often forces me to tie it back in a slick bun in frustration.

I decided it was time for a change. Armed with the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System and Shark SpeedStyle RapidGloss™ Finisher and High-Velocity Hair Dryer I explored what I could do. As my hair is naturally straight I first wanted to enhance its appearance. I started off easy with the Shark SpeedStyle. With five attachments to choose from I opted for the Turbo Concentrator attachment which made it sleek and ultra straight. Even with my lengthy mane it took my hair from wet to dry in no time at all. I was feeling pretty satisfied but I wanted to take this look even further so next I attached the Rapid Gloss Finisher. Like its name suggests this attachment is used as the finishing touch. In this case it uses colander technology to expertly smooth down flyaways making my hair look less frizzy and much more ‘done’. I left the house feeling put together and polished, and repeated the same process for the next few days.

“Even with my lengthy mane it took my hair from wet to dry in no time at all.”

Later that week, feeling confident, I decided to move onto the Shark FlexStyle to give my hair some voluminous waves. Offering powerful drying for all hair types, the lightweight Shark FlexStyle tool works to transform into an ultra-versatile multi-styler with a simple twist. Measuring and regulating the temperature 1000 times per second, the Shark FlexStyle delivers consistent heat that prevents placing any undue stress on your hair. And while we’re on the topic of heat, there are four temperature and three airflow settings for customised results. This means you can adjust the heat depending on your hair type and the look you’re trying to achieve. On top of that, there’s a cool shock button that sets your style for the day.

Blending power and performance I used the small auto-wrap curler and began curling my hair. The Shark FlexStye picked up each strand and perfectly curled it. The result? Salon quality locks that
transformed my morning appearance. Seeing how effortless the Shark FlexStyle was to use I vowed to make more of an effort. My mane may not look naturally finished each day after a shower, but I now have the tools in hand to get it there.
