A few of Fashion Quarterly editor Sally-Ann’s favourite things this month…
WEAR: SHADES OF RED
I’m planning on breaking up my predominantly black wardrobe with pops of bordeaux and brick red – my version of colour for spring. I’m currently lusting after this Zambesi silk robe, $390; Louis Vuitton Petite Malle bag, $8200; and Karen Walker scarf, $125.
READ: DOUBTLESS BY SAM HUNT
I adore Sam Hunt and am currently dipping into his poetry collections, including Doubtless, for inspiration.
SCENT: CURIO NOIR CANDLE
Curio Noir’s Vetyver Bouquet candle, $160, is scenting my season. The heady mix of Orange Flower, Cypress, Jasmine and Vetyver and the bespoke glass holder design (each candle is individually handblown) means it is a treat for the eyes as well as the nose.
DRINK: KRUG GRAND CUVEE NV
I was lucky enough to be treated to a champagne tasting experience recently with Krug’s Head of Business Development for Asia Pacific and USA, Julien Pepin Lehalleur. We sampled different vintages while Julien told us stories around a fire, amidst a custom-built miniature forest in the garden of Odettes. Everyone loves champagne – but learning about what goes into the making of this illustrious tipple makes me appreciate it even more! No surprises then, that I’m already looking forward to the ‘Thank Krug it’s 5 o’clock’ series of events in November.
DECORATE: JESSICA HANS CERAMIC VASE AND ESTABLISHED & SONS CHAIR
Jessica Hans’ crackle ceramic vase, $216, from Douglas and Bec, is beautiful in its irregularity, the perfect vessel to display some sparse winter foliage. The quilted nature of this Established & Sons chair, $13,624 from Simon James, is intensely luxurious.
