A few of Tyla’s favourite things this month…
WANT: RUBY GOSSAMER BLOUSE
I first fell for this blouse when we shot the white version for our spring issue. The strategic sheerness of the lace means there’s no need for a slip and shows off just the right amount of flesh. I’ll wear it with denim cut offs and slides during those balmy summer evenings or dress it up with leather culottes and heels.
EAT: NANAM
Steering clear of constantly eating at the same five places, my friends and I decided to try something new over the weekend. Flicking through the Metro Cheap Eats, Nanam was a stand out for us. Filipino food with a twist, it’s quickly become one of my new favourite restaurants. Highlights included: Taco Siopao which turned out to be bright pink steamed buns (coloured with beetroot juice) and filled with sticky pulled pork; the Beef Bistek; and the lamb and potato croquettes – which I possibly ordered a second round of.
DRINK: LITTLE ISLAND CHOCOLATE COCONUT MILK
Things have been getting pretty fitspo around FQ HQ lately and our treat consumption seems to have decreased substantially. I’m a gal who needs her chocolate though and this is the perfect way to get a guilt free sugar fix. Also, I’m not sure if there is a better combo than chocolate and coconut?
WEAR: TRIBE ‘LA’ SLIDES
If this week’s weather is anything to go by, sandal-wearing season is officially upon us! These babies are en route to my wardrobe and I know they’re going to fit in perfectly. Summer in the city can often make dressing a little tricky but there isn’t an item of clothing these slides won’t pair well with – including that RUBY blouse.
LISTEN: DISCLOSURE FT LORDE – MAGNETS
The song is amazing, that’s a given. But my interests really piqued when the video was released this week showcasing the incredible styling (not to mention flawlessly fresh make up). The gown in the opening scene is fueling my ongoing love for white, full length dresses. And that patent leather trench/slicked back hair/red lip combo is so spot on.
BEAUTY BUY: DIOR GLOW MAXIMIZER PRIMER
This radiance-boosting primer has become a permanent member of my makeup team. I pop a thin layer on post moisturizer, pre foundation to brighten my complexion. It also works well on top of foundation dabbed onto the high points of the face (bridge of the nose, cheekbones and brow arches) to add touches of light.
