“I’m really looking forward to seeing what it’s like behind the scenes”

Last week we introduced you to our talented new intern, Ashleigh Ilton, thanks to Holden Spark.

She’s since spent her first day behind the scenes at Miss FQ HQ as we prepare for our next issue (on sale May 22).

Hi everyone, Ash here!

My first day as Miss FQ‘s intern was amazing! It started off with the gorgeous Miss FQ ladies helping me get ready for my first big day. I needed a little extra help covering up my under eye bags, as I was so excited I couldn’t sleep the night before. I’m glad I decided to wear the Cameo jumpsuit – very Miss FQ! 😀

While getting a grand tour of my new workplace, I was lucky enough to meet a heap of important people in the Bauer Media office (that’s Miss FQ’s parent company, FYI). I couldn’t believe how big is was. Hundreds of people work there on lots of well known magazines like – who knew?!

Skye, the Digital and Associate Editor, was so welcoming and lovely 😊 But I’m not gonna lie, it was pretty nerve-racking walking into the Fashion Quarterly area where the team sits! Everyone I’ve looked up to since forever was there. Eeep! They say nerves are good though, as it means you really want something.

After grabbing coffee and chatting with Skye about the plans for the next issue, I got to take the Black Beauty (my new name for the Holden Spark ha ha) for a spin. So smooth, so new.
