2001: During the first New Zealand Fashion Week, held at the Auckland Town Hall, models on the Robin Jones Clothing runway found fake snow and heels made for a slippery combination, with several taking a tumble during the show.
2003: Who could forget former model Nicky Watson’s risque look at the IPG autumn/winter 2004 runway show?
2009: Actress Pamela Anderson, who is no stranger to stunts involving near-nudity, took to the runway after the A*Muse by Richie Rich show in nothing but a piece of material, stilettos, and a pink g-string.
2010: There was smoking, drinking, kissing and singing at NOM*d’s installation for its autumn/winter 2011 collection, Danse Macabre.
2011: This look comes courtesy of Aja Rock, who jumped out of a cake at the end of the Huffer autumn/winter 2012 show.
2011: Stolen Girlfriends Club fooled everyone into thinking its autumn/winter 2012 range was inspired by someone’s dress-up box, sending models down the runway in frilly prom dresses. The models swiftly stripped off to reveal the label’s actual collection, which didn’t have a ruffle in sight.
2011: WORLD‘s runway show collided with reality TV as contestants from New Zealand’s Next Top Model competed for the crown during the brand’s autumn/winter 2012 show.
2012: Auckland mayor Len Brown came to the rescue of a fallen model during the final walk of Australian label Charlie Brown‘s show.
2013: Zambesi showed everyone how to put on a slick runway show, with sliding walls revealing all the behind-the-scenes action backstage during its autmun/winter 2014 show.
