Fashion Quarterly and Simply You are proud to present our first Style Conversations, in association with Colgate Optic White.

Join editors Sally-Ann Mullin and Naomi Larkin, with a panel of key influencers from the worlds of fashion, beauty, home and wellbeing, for four intimate and inspiring evening sessions in August. Don’t miss out, book now as each event is limited to only 50 tickets.

The Style Conversations will be held at the Quay Project in Auckland’s fashionable Britomart precinct on the evenings of August 9, 10, 11 and 12. Fashion Quarterly will host the Beauty and Fashion sessions on August 9 and 11, with Simply You leading the Home and Wellness conversations on June 10 and 12 respectively. With a limited number of 50 tickets available per evening, the events will be both intimate and informative. Each night, industry leaders will share their success stories, new developments, tips and views on beauty, fashion, home and wellbeing. Each guest will receive  a premium goody bag valued at $100, including the latest copies of Fashion Quarterly and Simply You magazines.

Tuesday 9th August
Stars from the beauty world will talk makeup, hair, fragrance and appearance medicine, giving you tricks and tips to a more beautiful you.

About the speakers:

Benny Castles from WORLD
Benny Castles is the ridiculously modish designer for WORLD Man. Inspired to create garments that attune to an individual’s unique personality, his expertise in men’s fashion and creating an inspired philosophy for WORLD has left a stamp on New Zealand fashion.

Michael Beel – hair stylist (Buoy Hairdressing)
Michael Beel is known for his imaginative, strong and elegant hair styling. Devoted to his role at Buoy Hairdressing, the Wellington expert was named the New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year in the prestigious 2015 Hair Expo Awards in Australia.

Kiekie Stanners – senior artist at MAC
The stunning Kiekie Stanners was named New Zealand’s Senior Artist at MAC in 2015. Her incredible expertise and experience in the industry has been widely celebrated both nationally and internationally, shaping faces in local photoshoots and editorials and on Fashion Week runways in Milan and London.

Dr Catherine Stone – The Face Place
Initially famous for popularising Botox treatments in New Zealand, Dr Catherine Stone was the first doctor in Australasia to focus exclusively on Botox and set up her world class clinic, ‘The Face Place’ in 2001. New Zealand’s ‘Botox Queen’ has now set out on her global adventure to seek the truth about how people define beauty.

Frances Hooper
Frances Hooper is the co-founder and designer of the WORLD fashion and lifestyle brand. Hooper’s undeniable dedication and clear vision for the label since day one has seen it develop into one of the leading fashion brands in New Zealand’s history, which is now recognised internationally.

Rhana Devenport
Rhana Devenport was awarded the distinguished role of Director at the Auckland Art Gallery in 2013. Rhana’s eminent contribution to the industry as cultural producer, curator, writer and editor is widely celebrated and has had a lasting impact on the community.

Janice Kumar-Ward

Dayle Bygrave is the award-winning managing director and founder of Seneca Textiles, an agent for some of the world’s most prestigious textile and furnishing brands.

Sally-Ann Mullin
Announced editor of Fashion Quarterly magazine in 2015, the incredible Sally-Ann Mullin is now the leading face of this iconic brand. It is here Sally-Ann lives and breathes her passion for fashion and beauty, bringing a fresh and exciting perspective to the magazine during its evolution.

Meek Zuiderwyk
A long-time FQ collaborator, Meek has a unique eye for creating stunning graphic and avant-garde imagery – in fact, the last five FQ covers were shot by Meek. With a career spanning over the past two decades, Meek’s expertise in fashion photography, advertising and commercial projects is evident. His highly collaborative and out-of-the-box thinking has led to some of FQ’s most exciting editorial shoots to date.

Ngahuia Williams
A veteran in the modelling world, Ngahuia has over 15 years’ experience in front of the camera on both the local and global stage – her enduring appeal has seen her to stay in consistently hot demand. You’ll likely recognise her face from countless fashion shoots, TV commercials, music videos and magazine covers and she appeared in the first season of New Zealand’s Next Top Model as a model mentor.

Friday 12th August
Learn from four dynamic women – all leaders in their respective fields – what foods, therapies and innovations exist to make your life more balanced and healthy in this increasingly hectic and demanding world.

About the speakers:

Miranda Waple
Miranda Waple is the managing director of ‘The Six Senses’, a successful company which provides the complete service of the finest beauty products, from creation and development to distribution to marketing, on behalf of other creative minds, including Karen Walker and the launch of the delicous ‘Easy as ABC’ fragrance collection in 2015. Miranda was also former General Manager of L’Oreal Luxury Division NZ.

Emma Mildon
Emma Mildon is known as the “PA for the soul”. The successful author of The Soul Searchers Handbook, as well as an admired speaker and spiritualist. Emma’s passion for spirituality and natural living has sent her on a journey across the globe, leaving her inspired to provide fun, spiritual advice and remedies to her generation.

Angela Merrie
Angela Merrie is an influential whole food exponent, practitioner and the founder of the website Pretty Damn Good For You, which has gained immense popularity, both nationally and internationally. Angela is celebrated for her healthy living approach to life, with delicious sugar and grain free recipes, that will be sure to convert us fast food bingers.
