Get ready for a star-studded drama with glamourous outfits and prominent personalities.

Lady Gaga at the House of Gucci UK premiere.

Showing in cinemas nationwide from 1 January 2022, the hotly anticipated House of Gucci film is sure to leave an impression on fashionistas and movie buffs alike. Set in Florence, Italy, from 1978, the dramatic plot follows the stilted relationship between Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) and Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga), and the discord amongst them and the wider Gucci family over control of the luxury brand. We won’t give too much away, but as the plot unfolds, many tragedies occur, including the likes of tax evasion, murder, manipulation, and an affair.

Directed by Ridley Scott, the film is based on the 2001 book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden. However, the actual events behind the infamous fashion family will forever be a mystery, with the real Gucci family saying they are disappointed by the film’s inaccuracies.

No members of the Gucci family are involved in the operation of the luxury fashion house in the present day, and French multinational Kering now owns the brand. Yet the legacy of the Gucci family lives on in many enduring motifs loved by customers today, from the beloved Gucci flora print to the iconic horse-bit loafers.

Whether you’re interested in the film for the storyline or the glamourous outfits, watch the House of Gucci movie trailer below and check your nearest cinema’s timetable for viewing times.
