Peter Pilotto + Francis Upritchard

Given fashion’s love affair with the art world, designer-artist collaborations are not uncommon, but one recent pairing has us super excited.

Fashion legend Peter Pilotto has teamed up with Francis Upritchard, a New Zealand contemporary artist currently based in London, to create an eight-piece capsule collection exclusive to matchesfashion.com.

The collection, which debuted on London Fashion Week’s spring runway alongside Peter Pilotto’s mainline offering (which also features Upritchard’s prints), draws on the artist’s playful graphic aesthetic and merges with Peter Pilotto’s feminine avant-garde designs.

Made possible by a partnership with Amex, the capsule’s casual street-inspired pieces are embellished with patchwork and intarsia weave. “We all really like making with our hands in that quite old-school way,” Upritchard told Clare Coulston in an interview for Matches Fashion. “We love these tiny details — it gives all of us joy.”

Amex X Peter Pilotto + Francis Upritchard is available now, along with Peter Pilotto’s Spring 17 collection.
