After two years of development Ingrid Starnes has launched her very first perfume – Vetvyer Bergamot. Watch the video below and scroll down to find out how you could win a bottle of the brand new fragrance.
Vetyver, which comes from the root of a grass, is heady and intoxicating, while the Bergamot is fresh with grapefruit and lime notes. These are two elements of the world’s first major perfume – Chypre by Coty created in 1917.
Fashion designer Starnes says she uses Vetyver from Java in Indonesia, which is smokier than the traditional Vetyver from India or Haiti.
“It’s a modern take on a traditional scent that took us a while to get,” Starnes says.
She has also made a soap to compliment the fragrance that uses all natural parfum, organic manuka honey, organic goat’s milk and shea butter.
The perfume and soap are available at the Dressing Room at the Department Store, Ingrid Starnes store in Newmarket, Tessuti in Herne Bay and at selected stockists throughout the country, as well as online at www.ingridstarnes.com.
