COMPETITION TERMS

WIN: EmpowHER grant with Dermalogica and Saben for business acceleration powered by The Icehouse. 

Registration for the scholarship draw is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

1. Dermalogica (distributed by Two Hundred Doors), Saben, and The Icehouse retain the rights to all content (video, imagery, copy, quotes) in perpetuity across any media platform without exclusion.
2. Entrants must be New Zealand based.
3. Entrants must be over the age of 18.
4. Dermalogica, Saben & The Icehouse reserve the right to conduct a background check on all applicants, a process that will be disclosed to entrants if undertaken.
5. By entering this competition, you are consenting to sign up to Dermalogica, Saben, and The Icehouse’s databases.
6. To be eligible for the EmpowHER scholarship the winner must meet the following criteria: the business needs to be 1-3 years old, and in the enterprise stage of development with an estimated turnover between $500,000 – $3 million since entering the market or from registration. This competition is aimed at supporting an up-and-coming female business owner to take her business to the next level. 

Standard Promotion or Competition Rules

Definitions: 

The ‘Promoter’ is Via Media.

The ‘Promoter’s ‘Disqualified Participants ‘are:

1. all Via Media employees, all employees of participating sponsor(s) or promoter(s) and/or advertising and PR agencies and their immediate families.
2. all people under the age of 18 years. 
3. all people who have won a prize from Fashion Quarterly in the last 14 days. If the previously won prize was valued at over $1,000, the winner must stand down from entering for a period of 90 days.

‘Immediate Families’ include spouses, grandparents, parents, children, and grandchildren, whether by marriage, past marriages, adoption, cohabitation, or other family extension.

Entry: 

1. These Promotion Competition Rules (‘the Rules’) apply to all Via Media Competitions (collectively the ‘Promotion’) conducted on or off air and by means of any medium- online, radio, print, or a connected device. The Rules may change from time to time.
2. If a particular Promotion has specific rules or terms (‘The Specific Rules’) those Specific Rules will apply if there is any inconsistency with the Rules.
3. Unless otherwise stated in the Specific Rules registration, entry or vote is limited to one video entry and written application per person. Where multiple registration, entries or votes are acceptable, each must be made separately.
4. Entry into the Promotion is deemed to be the acceptance of the Rules and the Specific Rules and confirmation that the entrant has the necessary authority (for example from the bill pate or owner of a telephone) to enter the Promotion.
5. No purchase is necessary to win or participate in the Promotion, unless specified in the Specific Rules.
6. The Promotion is open to New Zealand residents only. Disqualified Participants may not enter the Promotion.
7. Entrants consent to Via Media and its associated sponsor(s) (Dermalogica/Two Hundred Doors, Saben, and The Icehouse) using the entrant’s name, likeness, image and/or voice, and likeness and images of the entrant’s [submission], in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this Promotion (including any outcome), promoting the [promotional content], and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter and its associated sponsor(s). By entering this Promotion you agree to receive occasional information from Via Media and its associated sponsor(s), including email newsletters. Via Media reserves the right to make any changes to the Promotional Period, Production Dates, and any prizes, and to provide the winner(s) with a substitute prize.
8. Via Media and its associated sponsor(s) reserve the right to exclude any person from participating in the Promotion on reasonable grounds.
9. Via Media reserves the right to refuse to award any prize to an entrant who Via Media (and its associated sponsor(s) decided (in their sole discretion) has violated the Rules (including the Specific Rules), gained unfair advantage in participating in the Promotion, or won using fraudulent means.
10. By participating, entrants grant Via Media and its associated sponsor(s) permission to use their names, characters, photographs, videos, voices, and likeness in connection with the Promotion and for future promotion and marketing purposes and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use.
11. All entrant personal details must be valid and up to date and will be held by Via Media and may be used for the purpose of the Promotion and for future promotion and marketing purposes in accordance with Via Media’s Privacy Policy (fq.co.nz/privacy) unless otherwise directed by contestants at the time of entry.
12. Personal information provided at the time of entry is presumed to be true.

Winning the Prize:

1. Only the person who originally entered the Promotion can be awarded the prize (the ‘Winner’).
2. The Winner will be determined in the manner set out in the Rules or the Specific Rules – if not specified, then as determined by the Promoter and their associated sponsor(s) who shall for this purpose be deemed the judge (the ‘Judge’).
3. The Judge’s determination of the Winner will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
4. The Winner will be notified by email, phone (voice or text), or in person and must be available for the preparation of all publicity that may be required by Via Media and their associated sponsor(s). Where attempts to contact the Winner fail (e.g. when the Winner cannot be contacted by phone after three attempts) the Judge will select another winner. If, after successful notification, the prize is not collected within one month of being announced it will be regarded as forfeit. 
5. The additional Prizes (Saben handbag, Dermalogica skin care, and The Icehouse workshops) are not redeemable for cash or transferable. No other family members, friends, office associates, or any other person will be able to participate on the Winner’s (or the runner-ups) behalf. In the event that the Prize specific in the competition becomes unavailable for any reason the Promoter may substitute a prize of like or equal value. 
6. Where the Winner is required to claim the prize in person, they must provide proper identification (e.g. driver’s license, passport, birth certificate). 
7. The Winner takes the Prize entirely at her own risk and indemnifies Via Media and its associated sponsor(s) in respect of any claim for any accident, injury, property damage or loss of life that may occur in connection with the Prize. The Winner is responsible for all insurance, tax, or other costs that may be associated with the Prize. Where the Prize has associated terms and conditions, the Winner accepts the Prize subject to those terms and conditions restrictions. 

About the prize:

1. As part of the EmpowHER Scholarship Campaign, Saben/Dermalogica is awarding 1 x $3,695+GST towards The Icehouse ‘Taking Your Business Forward’ programme, and 4 x $1,950+GST towards either of The Icehouse workshops; ‘Financial Skills’ or ‘Sales Skills’ – 2023 intakes. The scholarship cannot be used for any other The Icehouse products or services.
2. The recipient of the ‘EmpowHER $10,000+ Scholarship’ will receive a $5,000 financial cash boost, a tailored mentoring course at Saben & Dermalogica’s head office, a The Icehouse ‘Taking Your Business Forward’ 3-month course, plus Dermalogica skin care, and a Saben handbag. Dermalogica to supply a ProSkin 30 or 60 and the winner’s regime as prescribed by their skin therapist to the value of $500. Saben to supply a ‘business bag’ to the value of $500 that the winner can choose. Total prize value of $1,000. The winner can top this up.
3. Four runners-up will receive a $2,500 valued grant each, and either The Icehouse’s ‘Financial Skills’ or ‘Sales Skills’ workshop (valued at $2,007 each), plus x4 $250 Saben vouchers and x4 $250 Dermalogica/Skintopia vouchers.

Eligibility:

Eligible entries are all business owners who register via the “Apply for the EmpowHER Scholarship” button on the website https://fq.co.nz no later than the campaign deadline of March 29 2023.

Saben, Dermalogica, and The Icehouse (with Roanne Jacobson, Natasha Bourke and Liz Wotherspoon as judges) reserves the right to make the selection of three business owners for the EmpowHer Scholarship under controlled conditions and in consultation with all parties. The candidates must meet The Icehouse’s minimum criteria for acceptance onto the ‘Taking Your Business Forward’ programme, and ‘Financial Skills’ or ‘Sales Skills’ workshops. If there are not three suitable companies, The Icehouse reserves the right not to award a scholarship and reopen the campaign.

Conditions:

• By registering for the competition, shortlisted entrants agree to be contacted by a representative of The Icehouse to further discuss The Icehouse’s offering once the campaign has ended and winners have been announced. There is no obligation to purchase any The Icehouse products or services.
• Saben/Dermalogica and The Icehouse reserves the right to name the winners in public communications including, but not limited to, social media and media releases.

Selection and announcement of winners:

• The winners will be selected by Saben/Dermalogica in consultation with The Icehouse from the pool of all eligible entrants.
• All entrants will be assessed against the core criteria for acceptance onto the ‘Taking Your Business Forward’ programme, or ‘Financial Skills’ or ‘Sales Skills’ workshops, and those defined in conjunction with Saben/Dermalogica.
• The winners will be announced by April 24, 2023.
• Times offered with brand founders will be at the Saben & Dermalogica teams’ discretion and the winner will need to accommodate them. Within working days and a few day and time options provided on offer for the winner to select from. If they are unable to make that one round of alternative dates will be provided and if additional dates cannot be agreed upon they will be null in void and the winning prize passed onto the second runner-up. 

Scholarship redemption

• The prize must be redeemed within 3 months of the date on which the winners are announced by enrolling for any ‘Taking Your Business Forward’ programme or’ Financial Skills’ or ‘Sales Skills’ workshops starting between 1 January, 2023 and December 31, 2023.
• No transferring to 2024 or beyond.
• Subject to availability, as programmes and workshops can fill up months in advance.
• The Icehouse standard terms and conditions apply.
• The prize is not transferable in any respect, be that for another product offering or cash value.
• The Icehouse reserves the right to discontinue the scholarship winner’s participation if they fail to fully commit to or attend dates for the programmes or workshops and forfeit the right to rebook for a future programme or workshop in order to redeem the scholarship.

The Icehouse Events Workshop, Taking Your Business Forward

• All general Icehouse terms and conditions outlined above apply.
• Once confirmed on a course, transfers must be submitted in writing up to 14 working days prior to the start date to have the ability to transfer to another date. Transfers are at the full discretion of The Icehouse due to event/workshop demand. Transfers must be made to programme starting in 2023 in line with the scholarship redemption terms.
• The Icehouse reserves the right to make changes to the event/workshop, location and speakers without prior notice.
• Taking Your Business Forward is designed for owner managers of businesses with turnover between $500,000 – $3 million.
• Workshops are designed for owner managers and leaders of businesses with turnover between $500,000 – $3 million.

• Billing or purchase information; and
• Business demographics.

We collect your personal information in order to:

• process your enrolment;
• understand more about you and your business; and
• better enable us to help you grow your business.
• Besides our staff, we share this information with our delivery partners in order to better tailor the event, workshop, or programme content to you and your business.

Providing some information is optional. If you choose not to enter business demographics, we may unfortunately be unable to enroll or tailor your business to a programme or workshop.

We keep your information safe by storing it in secure locations and only allowing authorised users access.

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. Via Media Responsibility

20. Via Media and its associated sponsor(s) reserves the right to amend, vary, extend, or discontinue a Promotion at any stage, for any reason.
21. Via Media and its associated sponsor(s) take no responsibility for any inability to enter, complete, continue or conclude the Promotion due to equipment or technical malfunction, busy lines, inadvertent disconnection, texts with a misspelled keyword, texts to an incorrect shortcode, Force Majeure or otherwise. 
22. To the fullest extent permitted by law Via Media and its associated sponsor(s) will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for personal injury as a result of Promotion entry or winning the prize.
23. Where the Prize is to be supplied by an entity outside Via Media’s control and that entity fails, for whatever reason, to supply the prize, Via Media has no responsibility for the provision of the Prize and is not obliged to provide an alternative Prize or to take legal action to require the Prize supplier to provide the Prize. 

Acceptance

24. Participation in the Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
25. If the Winner does not accept these Terms and Conditions the Prize will be forfeited.
