Dermalogica is dropping its prices to combat grey market websites.

Skin care company Dermalogica is dropping its prices in New Zealand to encourage customers to buy products from authorised retailers rather than grey market sites like strawberry.net.

Recommended retail prices are being decreased by an average of 23% across the entire Dermalogica range, with favourites like the Daily Microfoliant dropping from $134 to $90.

Managing director of Skin Health Experts Natasha Gee said people were taking a risk by buying products at a cheaper price through unauthorised websites.

“In some cases, the product is old or has been tampered with, reducing its effectiveness and posing health risks.”

Gee also said websites could not identify skin concerns or help address these like a professional could.
