Kendall Jenner anxiety

“Anxiety was a huge hurdle for me to deal with this past year.”

It would be easy to assume, while she kills it on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk and posts insane snaps on Instagram, that life is pretty perfect for Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kendall Jenner.

But any sufferer will understand mental illness doesn’t discriminate – and even Kenny is no exception. The 23-year-old model has revealed that for the past 12 months, she’s been struggling with anxiety.

“Anxiety was a huge hurdle for me to deal with this past year (and security concerns didn’t help),” Kendall explained on her app in her 2016 ‘peaks and pits’ post. “But I think I’m finally learning how to cope.”

This isn’t the first time Kendall has opened up about her anxiety. For fans of the show, the news may not come as a surprise after she freely talked about her frightening struggle with sleep paralysis in an episode of KUWTK last year. Sleep paralysis is a condition where the person is unable to move or speak when waking in the middle of the night.

Studies show that people with anxiety are more likely to suffer from sleep paralysis. In the same episode of the show, she mentioned how she’d been having panic attacks on a plane.

In a separate post on her app, she touches on a time when she experienced a really bad anxiety attack and shares how she dealt with the situation.

“I once had a really bad attack on a plane and just had to ride it out,” Kendall wrote. “I felt my heart beating a million miles an hour and I even went a little numb.”

She’s since realised “it’s all mental, so I try to prevent anxiety attacks by bringing my mind somewhere else. Breathing exercises have become a regular tool.”

Kendall has also recently painted her room a shade of pink that is scientifically proven to be calming and also is suppresses appetites.

“I decided to paint it [my living room wall] pink because while I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with the room,” she wrote on her app. “I went to dinner with friends and they had just gone to the ‘Human Condition’ exhibition at a former hospital in LA.”

“They were telling me there’s a pink room at the exhibit that had an explanation of the color choice: Baker-Miller Pink is the only color scientifically proven to calm you AND suppress your appetite. I was like, ‘I NEED this color in my house!’ I then found someone to paint the room and now I’m loving it!”

It’s not only feel-good but looks pretty too!
