You submitted your favourite Coke recipes all summer long – but there could be only one winner!

Not only did we help you get all your summer outfits sorted, but pre-Christmas we also shared our favourite ice-cold Coca-Cola recipe for summer (the ‘Coke-conut’, if you can remember *wink*). In return, we asked you for the Coke recipes that keep you going all summer – and boy, there were plenty!

Choosing a winner from the hundreds sent to us was pretty difficult; but when it came to the crunch, there was one delicious recipe that had the entire Miss FQ team positively salivating as we read the ingredients aloud.

Introducing: The Hokey Pokey Coca-Cola Float
with Caramelised Nuts

Okay, so we’re no strangers to a Coke float, but this Kiwi twist on a classic submitted by Rachel G from Wellington had us all running out to buy hokey pokey ice-cream by the crate! And don’t even get us started on the addition of those delicious caramelised macadamia nuts… Watch the video to see step-by-step instructions.

To make this, you’ll need:
Coca-Cola
A highball glass
Ice
Hokey pokey ice-cream
Caramelised nuts (your choice, but we love macadamias!)

Method:
1. Fill a highball glass with ice
2. Pour in Coca-Cola to about ¾ full
3. Add one or two scoops of hokey pokey ice-cream
4. Crush up caramelised nuts and sprinkle on top
5. Add a paper or metal straw and enjoy!

Congratulations to Rachel who will enjoy updating her summer wardrobe with a $1,000 shopping voucher PLUS, of course, a Coca-Cola gift pack full of summer treats and goodies.

But because there were so many delicious submissions from all of you (seriously, how have you been keeping these from us all this time?!) we thought it was only fair to share a few of our other favourites that came *this* close to taking out the top spot:

Coca-Cola and Orange Flower Water

Submitted by: Marieka C from Wellington

Method:
“Blend Coca-Cola, lemon juice, orange flower water and ice. Pour the Coke mixture into a tumbler glass and garnish with a sprig of thyme.”

Non-Alcoholic Long Island Iced Tea

Submitted by: Brooke H from Ellerslie

Method:
Take 120ml Coca-Cola, 120ml Lemonade and 120ml Unsweetened Black Tea. Fill a glass half full of ice. Combine all ingredients and stir. Garnish with a lemon wheel.

Cardamom and Apricot Coca-Cola

Submitted by: Sophie M from Auckland

Method:
“In a dry pan, roast the cardamom seeds until they begin to smoke, then remove from shell and grind. In a small pot, combine sugar and diced apricots over a low heat and cover. Incorporate the cardamom and fresh vanilla and let stew until thick and syrupy. Let apricot syrup cool down and refrigerate. In a tall glass mix one part apricot with three parts Coca Cola. Serve with apricot liqueur or as a soft drink.”

Raspberry Sorbet with Coke Shaved Ice

Submitted by: Cybella M from Devonport.

Method:
“It’s something cool for summer and a little bit unique. You need to freeze the Coke, then shave off thin pieces with a knife or a grater. Make a little bed for your sorbet to rest on, then add the sorbet on top, and garnish with fruits, cream and Coke bottle gummies. Best shared with a friend.”
