It’s a day of celebration and one of the highlights of the year, but also very long and rather full on. The key to your beauty regime is to keep it simple yet effective, so that it looks fabulous but goes the distance. Try these new products on counter.

Skin preparation is key if you want your foundation to go the distance. After moisturising, apply a primer and let it absorb for a couple of minutes – it’ll help foundation stay put and go on smoothly. If you can get a multi-tasking version, even better!

If you have good skin, forgo the foundation and use a tinted moisturiser instead. It’ll give you a light, sheer coverage and you won’t have to worry about it sliding off as the day goes on.

A pop of blush is a must, and will make you look alert and alive even if you’re feeling exhausted. Cream blush tapped on to the apples of cheeks lasts well over tinted moisturiser, otherwise swirl on a soft pink or peach powder blush. If you’re into that lovely luminous look, add some bronzer or pearlescent face powder to the highest point of your face (forehead, nose, cupids bow and upper cheekbones).

Time is of the essence, so instead of spending lots of time on your eyes, opt for a shimmery champagne or light bronze shadow on lids and two coats of mascara.
