Did someone say peanut butter jelly time?!
Jimmy Kimmel, host of the 68th Annual Prime Time Emmy Awards and Stranger Things stars Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, and Caleb McLaughlin provided the audience with America’s all time favourite snack at today’s show.
Kimmel put the entire award show on pause and cut to video of his mum making delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwiches while the Stranger Things cast helped to pass out the iconic snack to the audience on their in-costume bicycles.
“I know these shows are long, and I know a lot of you haven’t eaten since Labor Day,” Kimmel joked.
The Emmy host even made made an announcement during the commercial break, to ask about any allergies: “Ladies and gentlemen, please be advised. If you are allergic to peanut butter and gluten, the lunch bags you are receiving contain both ingredients.”
The cameras spotted House of Cards star Kevin Spacey munching down on his own sandwiches which was fair ’nuff (we would have too).
Kimmel reminded everyone of the sweetest ultimate childhood throwback, telling the audience that his mum used to leave a cute little note in the lunch bags she prepared so he then asked the celebs to read theirs out to the crowd.
Cuba Gooding Jr.’s read, “Dear, Cuba. Loved you in Snow Dogs” which promted the American Crime Story actor to tease Kimmel’s mum for not being up date with movies. LOL
The Emmys host then jokingly accused Amy Schumer for eating her note, before the comedian read hers aloud: “Dear Amy, You’re the funniest woman on television. I wish you were hosting the Emmys this year.”
It seems Kimmel’s mum got Amy Schumer mixed up with Amy Poehler, as the note then said, “Bring back Parks and Rec.”
Good one Mum…
All in all I think it’s fair to say the audience was very satisfied!
