The 26-year-old model has slammed the 52-year-old rapper as a ‘predator’, but her opinion has seen her come under fire from fans…

Cara Delevingne has admitted she has lost ‘100,000’ followers after she slammed R Kelly on Instagram and addressed the claims of sexual misconduct surrounding the rapper.

The 26-year-old model shared a post about the ‘predator’ after she watched the Lifetime docu-series Surviving R. Kelly. In the documentary, 54 survivors allege various abuses – emotional, physical and sexual abuse as well as coercive control and the rape of minors – at the hands of the self-pronounced ‘Pied Piper of R&B’ since 1998. And only one big name celebrity, John Legend, appeared on the documentary, later tweeting: “It didn’t feel risky at all…I believe these women and don’t give a fuck about protecting a serial child rapist. Easy decision.”

I finished the Surviving R Kelly documentary last night and I am so shocked and outraged at how long this has gone on. My heart goes out to all the victims of his emotional and physical abuse and their families. This man is a predator that feeds of power and in my opinion is far worse than Harvey Weinstein and needs to be held accountable. I am not trying to compare the two, my point is, Harvey is being investigated and R Kelly is not. We have ourselves to blame in this situation, I knew of the allegations but failed to try and understand the severity of the situation. I still continued to listen to his music. Stop separating art from the artist, just because he sings like an angel, doesn’t mean he is one. I still want to applaud @johnlegend @keke @vincestaples @chancetherapper @jadapinkettsmith @ladygaga for continuing the conversation. I really hope that more musicians stand up against this monster #MuteRKelly #MeToo #blackgirlslivesmatter

In a lengthy post, Cara – who now boasts 41.2,000 followers – wrote:

Just one day later and the Suicide Squad actress revealed her followers had massively dropped, with 50,000 fans unfollowing her. But the star has insisted she won’t back down or be silenced because of the ‘controversial’ matters she discusses, and she has promised to be even ‘more confrontational’ this year – and rightly so!

This is me realizing I lost more than 50,000 followers yesterday after posting about @rkelly Every time I say something real, something I truly believe, something others may think of as controversial, something that makes people think and ask questions, I lose followers. The followers I lose clearly don’t agree with what I have to say, people that support the ideas and actions of others who are moving backwards and not forwards. In 2019, I want to be more confrontational. Confrontation IS NOT VIOLENCE btw, it’s communication. Something I still struggle with. I have always been taught to avoid confrontation at all costs, which caused me to be silent most of my life, silence causes suppression and suppression causes sickness. Not anymore! Goodbye silence and backwards followers, hello confrontation and forward thinkers. It’s going to be a loud year xxx #MuteRKelly

A second post, which includes a string of Cara’s shocked face close up, read:

But Cara has since lost even more followers for her comments. Cara shared a post from another publication about her loss of followers on her Instagram account, with the words “100,000 and counting” emblazoned over it.

Cara is not alone in denouncing R Kelly, as Chance the Rapper, Damon Dash, Ne-Yo, Tank, Omarion, Meek Mill and Common have since taken Legend’s lead, have all condemned the Ignition hitmaker. While Lady Gaga has issued an apology for working with the alleged sex abuser in 2013 on the track ‘Do What You Want With My Body’.

However, R Kelly has vehemently denied all of the allegations made against him.

The 52-year-old’s lawyer, Steve Greenberg, told The Associated Press: “The allegations aren’t true because he never knowingly had sex with an underage woman, he never forced anyone to do anything, he never held anyone captive, he never abused anyone.”
