One of fashion’s most influential slashies – fashion blogger, influencer and designer Chiara Ferragni has now officially added the occupation of mother next to her name.
The founder of The Blonde Salad announced the birth of her baby boy, with fiancé and Italian rapper Fedez, on Instagram. In a short yet sweet message, Chiara stated that Leo was born on 19 March 2018 in Los Angeles.
The Italian power couple’s first child has been named Leone or Leo for short with the inspiration behind the name based off two of Chiara’s tattoos.
In an Instagram post Chiara explained to a fan that, “At the end of August 2016, after a few months of being single and ‘dating’ guys that were not the right thing for me, I tattooed two lions [a male and a female] on the back of my right arm.
“Which meant true love to me…I found my true love and Leo is in celebration of this love,” she added.
After announcing the pregnancy in October last year, via an Instagram post that gained over a million likes, Chiara and Fedez have been documenting the pregnancy across social media. And the hashtag for their baby boy #LeoncionMio has already been trending.
Up until a month ago, the blogger’s busy schedule had been business-as-usual with doctors then ordering Chiara be put on bedrest due to issues with Leo’s stomach. Despite concerns, Leo was born happy and healthy at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.
Ever on trend—even during childbirth—Chiara wore a 90s-inspired scrunchie which is continuing to make a strong fashion comeback. Is this the first inkling of Chiara’s transformation from fashion influencer to ultra chic mommy blogger?
Chiara’s fashion empire started via her blog The Blonde Salad in 2009 and now spans her website, footwear line and social media (she only has a cool 12 million followers on Instagram!)
