Her MUA spills
Beyoncé radiated only one thing at this year’s Grammy Awards: total #goals
Her ornate, over-the-top performance left us weeping at its sheer beauty and it was all done in super affordable makeup. It’s true that Beyoncé, like other celebs, loves a drugstore buy as much as the rest of us.
Say what?! Yep, that’s right. Her make-up artist, Sir John has spilled to Allure on exactly what it took to get the expectant mother-of-two award-show ready – and the products he used are readily available. Well, almost.
“She’s already has that pregnancy glow, but we just wanted to enhance that even more,” he revealed.
So what did it take?
Two layers of highlighter were used.
First, Sir John added a drop of the L’Oréal Paris True Match Liquid Lumi Illuminator in Golden into Beyoncé’s foundation – which was the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Glow Foundation. He then followed with a touch of the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24HR Eyeshadow in Eternal Sunshine on top.
While we can’t get our hands on these exact products right now (but they will be in NZ later this year), we’ve put together some L’Oreal alternatives if you’re dying to try out this look:
For Queen Bey’s matte bronze, smokey eyes, shades from the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude, $37.99, were applied to the crease and the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Paints Eyeshadow in Nude Fishnet was used on the centre of her lips and in the tearducts, achieving the golden, pigmented look we’re totally loving RN. Before she went on stage, the makeup pro also applied a layer of clear balm to make enhance her glisten and gleam.
“I think back to when we were doing Lemonade and I thought, ‘No one is ever going to copy this makeup we’re doing,’ but then I went to parties and festivals and at every concert we did around the world, girls were showing up wearing those dots that we did,” Sir John said.
We don’t know about you, but we are TOTALLY trying this easy how-to… minus the Peter Dundas outfit, obvs.
