If you think that being on a two-and-a-half day Fashion Quarterly shoot sounds a bit like watching paint dry, we’d like to tell you that’s not usually how we roll.
But we went to extra lengths to bring you our ‘Wet Paint’ swimwear editorial on page 88 of our art issue.
The day before the shoot, team FQ rolled up their sleeves and got to work prepping the walls of the Bauer photo studio with Resene SpaceCote Flat paint in both Resene White and Resene Black. Once those coats were dry, the studio was ready for artists Andrew J. Steel and Damin Radford-Scott (D-side) to create the very clever set and props for our knockout swimwear spread. When the shoot wrapped, we rolled up our sleeves again and set about returning the studio to its former self. By then, we were painting pros – more Resene SpaceCote Flat in Resene White and our art director’s paint-flecked Raf Simons blazer later, no trace of art remained.
