If you hadn’t yet noticed, brows are huge. They’re bigger and bolder than ever, and we’re all clamouring to get ours in tip-top shape. Brow bars are popping up everywhere, and you can get your brows waxed, tinted or threaded for the same price, if not less, than a manicure. Even though big brows are in, it’s still important to find the right shape for you, and the right products to keep them looking their best.
For heart faces:
Offset a curved face with a bushier, bolder, straighter brow. Nicky Shore from OFF Wax says, “It’s all about amplifying the fullness and going back to the brows you might have had as a teenager.”
Tip: The Art Deco Eyebrow Stencils pack, $12, contains three options, thin, thick and natural, plus an applicator brush. Hold the stencil up to your brow and use a powder to fill in your brow to the desired shape.
For round faces:
Don’t over-arch your brows; this will make your face look even more circular. Instead, create a more angular appearance, adding a soft arch three-quarters of the way along the brow.
Tip: Brow powders work particularly well because they blend in beautifully. Guerlain Eyebrow Kit, $77, is one of the best as it has three shades you can customise to your individual brow. What’s more, there is a highlighter you can apply right under the eyebrow to define your eyes and make them appear bigger.
For square faces:
The key here is to work against your angular face and create curves with the brow. Align the peak of the brow with the widest angle of the jaw to balance out the strong jawline.
Tip: A brow mascara is your brows’ best friend, as it not only fills in, but sets brows in place. Try MAC Pro Long-wear Waterproof Brow Set in Brown Ebony, $36.
