Beauty industry insiders reveal their beauty icons, influences, can’t-live-without products and top tricks…
JESS CAREW
Beauty PR at Estée Lauder Companies
As a little girl I would sneak into my grandmother Edna’s bedroom and apply her lipstick in secret, thinking no one would notice. Of course it was completely obvious when I appeared with bright red lips but she’d never say a thing. To me beauty means confidence and to be happy in your own skin. As a teenager and even into my late 20s, I battled with my skin because I used the wrong products, which exacerbated the problem. I was so self-conscious. I wish I’d known then what I now know about beauty, and how to care for my skin through the right skincare.
My beauty icon: Lily Aldridge. Besides having exquisite skin, she is my style icon because she always looks beautiful whether she’s at an event or in jeans and a T-shirt. She always carries off different makeup looks so well.
