Chanel’s new eye collection includes a beauty lesson to boot.
Whenever Chanel drops a new collection we beauty obsessives scramble to get our hands on the goods. Their latest creation, out June 4, is an eye collection headed up by none other than Karl Lagerfeld’s muse, Kristen Stewart. The range features everything from the softest buttery tan tones to electric blue and deep rusty red. And while most of us would veer towards the safer tones, Chanel are making it easier to try a brave new look with their series of makeup how-tos by creative director of Chanel makeup, Lucia Pica.
Trilogy takes action against microbeads.
Thursday 8th June marks World Oceans Day, the annual United Nations-recognised day that aims to honour, protect and conserve the world’s oceans. This year’s theme aims to encourage the finding of the solution to plastic pollution, and Trilogy have joined the mission, targeting the ocean-harming microbeads that are commonly used in exfoliating products. Proud creators of exfoliant products that are free from plastic microbeads, Trilogy are repackaging their smash-hit Gentle Facial Exfoliant and Exfoliating Body Balm in stunning limited edition World Ocean’s Day designs, while promoting the international Beat the Microbead app. With a simple scan of a product’s barcode the app tells you whether the skincare is free from microbeads. The limited edition Trilogy products will be available for the month of June at Trilogy’s online store and through select stockists nationwide.
This new Nars collab is all your Francophile beauty dreams come true.
The concept of ‘French-girl’ beauty is a subject much discussed in the beauty community. In fact ‘French-girl’ anything. It’s a constant search for many Francophiles who go to great lengths to get that exclusive air of insouciant Parisian chic. The answer to obtaining French-girl beauty? Do as François Nars did and just ask a French girl. The latest and hotly anticipated Nars collaboration is with Charlotte Gainsbourg: singer, actress and daughter of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg. Comprising of smudgy liners and light/dark eyeshadow duos just right for perfecting that Carine Roitfeld-esque eye, a hydrating glow tint for that carefree fresh-faced look, and a lip and cheek tint stick — because what French girl goes to the trouble of owning a blusher? The collection is exclusive to Mecca Cosmetica, Mecca Maxima and online at Mecca Beauty now.
Redken has released a hair scrub.
After the runaway success of their stunning Diamond Oil Glow Dry Oil, the jewel-like product (which looks so good it’s practically an accessory) has been joined by a full regime of special shine products – and the lineup includes a hair scrub. Part of the brand’s first blow dry care range powered by heat reactive oils, the in-shower scrub exfoliates with argan shells to gently eliminate build up and impurities from the scalp and enhance shine. Joining the family is a shampoo and conditioner, making your haircare routine exactly the same as your face — scrub, cleanse, serum and moisturise.
It turns out stress is good for you – something Dermalogica knows.
It’s undisputed that stress negatively affects our health, but recent research reveals that stress can also have positive effects — making us more alert, focused and energised; in short, it helps us get stuff done. Inspired by these findings Dermalogica has formulated Stress Positive Eye Lift ($115), a fast-acting product that energises the eye areas and reduces the signs of stress on the skin. The product — which sold out in its first few weeks — has bioactive diglucosyl gallic acid to energise, fermented yeast to lift and wild indigo seed to reduce under eye bags. Grab a tube if you can get your hands on one, and take advantage of the benefits stress gives you, without taking a toll on your skin.
