It’s a true Vogue love story.
Bee Shaffer, the 29-year-old daughter of American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, is set to tie the knot to Francesco Carrozzini, the 34-year-old son of late Vogue Italia editor-in-chief, Franca Sozzani, in what is set to the be the fashion wedding of the century.
The offspring of the two legendary editors are believed to have been dating for some time, but their romance was only revealed publicly in October last year when Bee attended the premiere of Francesco’s documentary about his mother, Franca: Chaos & Creation. The duo are notoriously private and have managed to keep a low profile for much of the time, but their engagement was disclosed by Bee’s friend and Vogue accessories director Selby Drummond on her Instagram account.
In the photo, posted to Selby’s Instagram Story, Bee is perching on a chair in what appears to be the Vogue fashion closet, wearing a polka dot dress – and a large diamond ring on her left hand. The hashtag – #francescoblackandwhite – is one Francesco often uses himself on Instagram.
A Vogue spokesperson confirmed the news to outlets including People magazine and the Daily Mail.
Francesco’s mother Franca sadly passed away in December after a year-long illness, but had edited the famous fashion title since 1988. Her more famous counterpart Anna Wintour began editing the US version the same year, and the two were good friends, with Wintour penning a touching and personal account of their friendship on the Vogue.com website.
It is guaranteed to be a star-studded wedding, given the many fashion industry connections and high-profile friends the two families share.
However, the biggest question for us right now: Who will design the wedding dress?
