As owner of Queenstown boutique, Angel Divine, and creative director at womenswear label, New Lands, Natalie Newlands knows a thing or two about style.
In Fashion Quarterly‘s Issue #2 for 2017, you can read about how Natalie balances her business and her brand. But here we find out what’s on her radar right now…
FQ: How would you describe your personal style?
Natalie Newlands: It varies from day to day. I’m very much a mood dresser, so can go from wild colours one day to head-to-toe black the next. Tight or super baggy, I’m all about how garments make me feel.
Who are your style heroes?
Style.com fashion director Yasmin Sewell, and actress Tilda Swinton.
What are some of your favourite pieces in Angel Divine right now?
Garment Project sneakers (above) are a must, and there are so many cosy knits and incredible coats in store at the moment. The long, fox trench by New Lands is such a staple for winter days.
Where are your favourite places to shop abroad?
I love London’s Dover Street Market.
What was your last purchase?
Zambesi’s ‘Wintergarden’ wrap dress (above)
What is one item you are currently coveting?
Everything from Saint Laurent’s spring/summer 2017 collection.
What would we find inside your handbag?
Several matte MAC lipsticks (above), my laptop and phone, a bottle of water, highlighters – honestly my bag is always too heavy – and my son Knox’s matchbox trucks.
What are your beauty essentials?
Sleep, which I never quite get enough of.
