For the Chanel FW 2014 runway show at Paris Fashion Week, Karl Lagerfeld turned the Grand Palais into a shopping centre, where models walked through aisles lined with Chanel-branded groceries and products. Designers have been making a habit of referencing consumerism during the northern hemisphere’s fashion month, although the Chanel set was expectedly over-the-top.
