Q & A with Eva Longoria in NZ

While you may know her as Gabrielle Solis from the TV show Desperate Housewives or the glamorous spokesmodel for L’Oréal Paris, Eva Longoria is also a self-acclaimed online shopaholic. The 37-year-old star landed in Auckland yesterday to help launch NZ’s first freeview shopping channel. And I was lucky enough to get a seat at her press conference today. Fifteen minutes late, she charmed the media, not only with her cheeky sense of humour but also her passionate political views as cochairof President Barack Obama’sre-election campaign. Not to mention her smouldering Latino looks!

Here are her style tips:

What is your style motto?

Confidence.

What are you favourite labels?

I choose fashion for comfort and fit, not necessarily the label. I wear lots of H&M, Topshop and Asos.

What would we find in your handbag?

L’Oreal Paris Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara, a lip balm and some nuts or trail mix.

Three tips on why to shop online or on the new TV channel 18?

You get better deals, convenience and the easy return policy; they make it so easy.

What has been your most loved purchase?

My parents’ house. It gave me lots of pleasure moving them into town close to medical care. Oh, and a leather jacket.

What helps you evolve your style?

Hair colour. It really can change your look.

Do you indulge in regular beauty treatments?

I have a facial every two weeks – and not a nice relaxing facial; it’s a workout for my skin. Also light treatments and laser. Depending on the function or red carpet event I have, I really do believe in the power of facials to change the way your skin looks.

What’s your skin routine?

I moisturise day and night and really look after my skin. And I use sunscreen every day.

Tonight is the Woman’s Day VIP event with Eva Longoria. Look out for pics of the evening in this Monday’s magazine (October 8). And watch Eva live tomorrow night, 7.30pm on the Shopping Chanel 18.
