Betty and Veronica? Ring a bell –names most of us are too young to remember from the comic book era Arhcie’s Girls, which launched back in the early 40’s. But what you may remember is the “best friends and worst enemies” focus, a classic tale of friends fighting over the same guy (that would be freckle-faced Archie) certainly not worth losing your gal pal over – sound familiar now? For me those images of Betty and Veronica are timeless. Sealed in my memory, (as I flicked through comics in my teens), were their luscious lashes and perfectly painted pouts.
