It’s that time in the season, when the chill hits and you reach for the comforting warmth of a winter coat. The Haisley Coat from Untouched World’s AW26 collection is the coat to reach for. With a 100 per cent wool shell featuring TENCEL/cotton lining, it offers a level of consideration that content creator Aki Curtis adores. Here, she tells us why she keeps reaching for it.
Aki: There’s something incredibly comforting about putting on a proper wool coat in winter, especially now, when so much of fashion feels increasingly synthetic, and even beautifully cut coats at luxury price points are blended with polyester or lined with plastic-based fabrics. You can feel it straightaway once you start paying attention. That’s what first drew me to the Haisley Coat from Untouched World, the centrepiece of their AW26 collection. From the moment I put it on, it felt like one of those rare pieces that reminds you what quality clothing is supposed to feel like. It’s elegant, instantly pulling together any outfit. And what makes the Haisley even more special is what’s hidden beneath the surface.
Over the past few years, my experience of navigating endometriosis, hormone imbalance, and IVF has made me more conscious of the materials and products I surround myself with every day. Like many women, I started paying closer attention to ingredients, fabrics, and the conversation around microplastics and synthetic materials in our environment. It naturally shifted the way I shop and what I value. So I now appreciate even more that the Haisley Coat is made entirely from natural fibres: 100 per cent wool shell and TENCEL/cotton lining, even the buttons are tagua-nut. In a fashion landscape saturated with plastic-based fabrics, this level of consideration feels rare.
I reach for it constantly and love how versatile and cosy it feels. The Haisley moves effortlessly between occasions. Layer it over soft tailoring, throw it over knitwear, or style it more minimally for evening. The Haisley comes in a Truffle camel or a Stormy Sky navy. For a lighter look, try the Untouched World Ivy Jacket. Otherwise their mohair knitwear is beautiful for adding soft warm layers underneath it.
Wearing a New Zealand-made piece also feels meaningful. The fabric is produced in Italy, brought back to New Zealand, and crafted in the Untouched World’s Christchurch workrooms — combining internationally renowned manufacturing with local craftsmanship. It’s reassuring to know there is clothing designed with permanence in mind still. The Haisley Coat feels like one of those keepsakes: timeless, beautifully crafted, and made to be worn and loved for many winters to come. Hope you love it as much as I do.
