First up, best dressed. These were the most stylish attendees spotted at this year's Australian Fashion Week.

It’s that time again in Sydney where industry people from far and wide gather at iconic locations – including Carriageworks and the Museum of Contemporary Art – for the spectacle that is Australian Fashion Week. If there’s one thing our friends across the ditch know how to do well (aside from putting on a good show) it’s making a stylish entrance. While this week is all about showcasing the very best talent the Antipodean fashion industry has to offer, we’ll no doubt be seeking sartorial inspiration from the attendees as well.

Below, our editors round up the best dressed guests from each day of Australian Fashion Week. Here’s who made the list…

Day one

The opening night of AFW was a maximalist’s dream. Featuring a mix floor-grazing gowns, vintage Carla Zampatti  – in honour of her 60th anniversary show – and slick suiting moments. These bold, expressive looks that reminded us why Fashion Week street style is just as compelling as the runways themselves.

Day two

Carriageworks was awash with impeccably tailored suits on day two of Fashion Week, as the style set leaned into menswear-inspired looks — perhaps taking a cue from the Met Gala’s “Superfine Tailoring” theme. These ensembles gave the men a run for their money, with everything from sleek belted coats and tuxedo dresses styled with knee-high boots, to button-up shirts paired with perfectly coordinated ties and oversized blazers with wide leg trousers.
