Two piece bridal outfits the next big wedding trend
What’s your best feature? Is it a slender waist, big eyes, thick flowing locks? On one of the biggest days of your life, your wedding day, it makes sense to want to showcase the asset you’re most proud of. But what if your best feature is your midriff? Thanks to designers taking part in New York City’s Bridal Fashion Week, your envy-inducing abs have been catered for.
The crop top wedding dress sounds somewhat alarming but the options on show were more demure than you might expect, many featuring overlays of lace and just a glimpse of skin beneath. Bohemian flowing dresses, like the handful of Vera Wang, the high priestess of celebrity bridal fashion, sexed things up with several extremely sheer dresses reminiscent of lingerie one would normally wear under a big white wedding dress. Wang offset the lace confections with several clean lined column options, one featuring modern cut outs about the ribcage.
This is the second season Reem Acra has presented skin-baring crops, proving the demand is growing. The label’s long-sleeved lace top and skirt combo is arguably one of the more successful incarnations.
Other designers embracing the two piece Delphine Manivet, Sarah Seven and Houghton.
Another trend for left of center brides? Pants also appeared in many collections.
Perfect for the fashion forward bride, if not for the ceremony, both these styles provide perfect attention-getting second outfit options for the reception.
