5 things we loved this week

Pockets of optimistic sunshine soon chased by chilly evenings. We round up our favourite new arrivals to embrace the moments that are uniquely spring.

1. Real-time radiance

If you’re ready to bookend what has felt like the longest winter ever and reemerge with a spring-ready glow, treating yourself to an exclusive Sans 60-Minute Sauna Experience at Hana Parnell for head-to-toe renewal is a non-negotiable. The experience begins with a deep exfoliation using Sans [ceuticals] Bio Active Body Exfoliant, followed by their Superdose Pro-facial to work deeply into your skin while enjoying the wellbeing benefits of an infrared sauna. There’s a new two-step lipid-boosting hair ritual made up of Nourishing Hydrant Ultra+ and pH+ Shine Corrector, followed by a deeply nourishing Activator 7 Body + Hair + Face Oil to dissolve into your damp skin, (plus a 50ml mini to take home). Shed what no longer serves you and step out feeling completely renewed with this editor-approved treatment.

2. Rosy outlook

Calendar filled with Polo invites, group getaways, weddings and garden parties? Iconic sunglasses brand Bored George has partnered with Caitlin Crisp to launch the “Elle” sunglasses—a dapper silhouette and perfect match for your spring/summer soirees. Available to pre-order now in three colourways, the design blends Caitlin Crisp’s femininity with Bored George’s edgy style. Priced at $179, the sunglasses will be available exclusively through Caitlin Crisp and Bored George’s stores. Bored George has grown significantly since its founding in 2019, now boasting over 90 stockists, while Caitlin Crisp continues to expand her curated collection of elegant, character-filled pieces.

3. Great Dame!

For 250 years, Veuve Clicquot has celebrated boldness, creativity, and innovation, rooted in the legacy of Madame Clicquot, the ‘grand dame’ of Champagne. La Grande Dame Rosé 2015 pays tribute to her pioneering spirit, blending red wine from the ‘Clos Colin’ vineyard. To honour this vintage, Paris Butter in Auckland’s quaint Herne Bay suburb has crafted a unique menu featuring dishes like Dry Aged Duck Breast and Orange Marmalade Cheesecake Foam, perfectly paired with La Grande Dame 2015’s delicate aromas and robust flavours. This September, experience an unforgettable food-wine pairing that showcases Veuve Clicquot’s winemaking excellence and Paris Butter’s culinary creativity.

4. Light layers

Arriving this week, drop one of Elle & Riley’s SS24 cashmere collection of featherweight cardigans, polos, and sweaters come in soothing shades like Malibu blue, vivid green, mint sorbet, and lemon. “Our SS24 collection truly captures the spirit of the summer season with its lightweight and breathable cashmere,” says Elle & Riley co-founder Yolande Ellis. The collection highlights trans-seasonal elegance with nautical stripes, ribbed jumpers, and silk-cashmere blends. Versatile pieces like short-sleeved tees and cable knit singlets create refined twinsets, ideal for layering or beach walks.

5. Smooth operation

There’s a lot to admire at Mānawa Bay—New Zealand’s newest premium outlet mall. For starters, it doesn’t feel like an outlet mall. Each brand has taken care to create desirable retail spaces curating their collections with luxuriously appointed fit-outs. (Assembly Label alone could have sold us on an investment coat, two armchairs and a shelving unit, but we digress). Coach and Michael Kors were there, as was a wide range of activewear and lifestyle brands. But the destination we’ll most likely be stopping back in for? Soul Origin and their expertly-brewed coffee blend. The Australian brand renowned for their fresh and nutritious offering has arrived and, respectfully, opted for beans roasted in Te Whanganui a Tara/Wellington to fuel its deservedly long line of patiently waiting patrons. If you’re a self-proclaimed fussy eater, consider Soul Origin your beacon of hope (and a really good coffee).
