1. A wintery welcome
A new line of luxury is landing on our shores this winter with the unveiling of Italian-based fashion house Jil Sander in Faradays. Founded in 1968 by then 24- year-old German designer, the eponymous label has become defined by its clean, minimalistic silhouettes. From winter 2024, Faradays – situated in Auckland’s central Parnell suburb – will be the exclusive New Zealand stockist for the Maison, showcasing a considered selection of women’s ready-to-wear, alongside iconic leather goods and accessories. “Unrestrained from seasonality, you’ll see the label’s perennial nature is reflected in the offering that we are bringing to market,” says Faradays’ co-founder and creative director, Constance von Dadelszen. “Think iconic pieces like coats, cashmere and merino staples, forever evening dresses, the perfect tailored trouser, wear-with-everything tees and, of course, the brand’s coveted bags, footwear and accessories.”
Jil Sander will be available both in store and online at Faradays. Official launch date is still to be confirmed.
2. In the blue
If you haven’t got your denim fix for autumn yet, set your sights on the latest collaboration between Karen Walker and Outland Denim. Following their highly successful first collaboration in 2019, the antipodean brands have joined forces again to release a seven-piece capsule collection featuring multiple cuts of jeans, a utility-inspired shirt and a denim jumpsuit. Placing equal importance on comfort and sustainability, the collection is made from lyocell, and recycled and organic cotton. “My team and I are thrilled to continue our journey with Outland,” said Karen Walker. “Their unwavering commitment to empowering their team is inspiring and it’s a real joy to have our designs realised through the skilled hands of their artisans.”
The collection is available to shop in-store and online from March 6th.
3. Pearls of wisdom
Fittingly named after the French word for ‘treasure’, Silk & Steel reminds us to cherish our everyday trinkets with their newest jewellery collection, Trésor. Drawing dual inspiration from the bold and eclectic aesthetic of ’90s jewellery and the effortlessness of French style, Trésor features an assortment of chunky silver and gold earrings, irregular baroque pearls and fob link chains throughout. Like all collections from the brand, wearers are encouraged to mix and match pieces to create unexpected and unique pairings — though we certainly won’t begrudge these adornments the opportunity to shine on their own.
Trèsor is available to shop now at silkandsteel.co.nz

5. Time of the season
It may officially be autumn now, but Auckland institution Andiamo is inviting you to savour the long days while they last with their latest set lunch offering. Available for a limited time only, the set menu has been designed by executive chef Gavin Doyle to pair exquisitely with Vavasour’s zesty 2023 Sauvignon Blanc. Comprising two delightful courses, you’ll be given a generous pour of Vavasour upon arrival, followed by the restaurant’s famed fresh focaccia with red pepper and parmesan butter. For your main, you can take your pick between market fish with ajo blanco, or the tomato risotto with soffritto, stracciatella and basil — both made with the very best seasonal produce. For those wanting to make it a long lunch, there are additional Vavasour wine matches available which pair beautifully with the flavours of each course. And for the sweet tooths on the table? We suggest Andiamo’s decadent tiramisu to finish.
“Andiamo Recommends: Vavasour” starts Friday 1st March and runs Wednesdays – Sundays, 12pm – 3pm for a limited time for $40 per person. Bookings are essential.
