Maggie Marilyn, Stolen Girlfriend's Club and Mi Piaci welcome their latest collections; Sundown launches their version of a Bramble cocktail; and Shiseido introduces a limited-edition set for the Lunar New Year.

1. New leaf

Hues of powder blue, lemon and cream take centre stage in Maggie Marilyn’s dreamy first ‘Forever’ capsule of the year, ‘Where the Wild Things Grow’. Drawing her inspiration from Mother Nature’s enduring capacity for change, this will be founder Maggie Hewitt’s first collection since becoming pregnant with her first child, and pays tribute to her brand’s continued journey towards a more circular, transparent fashion industry. “It’s been a journey that has stretched us beyond what we thought we were capable of, and has taught me the patience, grace and grit needed to step into this new chapter as a mother,” says Hewitt.

As she embarks on this new era in her life, Hewitt pays homage to her own parents in the collection’s first drop by way of a delicate floral print inspired by her mother’s rose garden and a deconstructed knit reminiscent of the rugby jerseys worn by her father in his early twenties. Other highlights include a very welcome recut of the ‘Someday Soon’ dress, a whimsical little mini now available in a crisp ivory with navy trim.

The first drop is available in Maggie Marilyn homes and online now.

2. Berry good

In need of a new post-work tipple for your summer rotation? Hawke’s Bay boutique gin brand Sundown has just welcomed their new Gin Berry Bramble — a delightful spin on an ’80s favourite that promises to be your next drink ju jour. Combining locally-made botanically-infused gin with sweet berries, tart lemon and fizz, it’s an easy and  refreshing ready-to-drink cocktail that can be sipped straight from the bottle. Like the rest of the brand’s range, the Berry Bramble contains no artificial flavours or preservatives — just full bodied flavour that’s best enjoyed with ice and a lemon wedge.

Sundown’s Berry Bramble is available from all good liquor stores and online at premiumliquor.co.nz

3. Strike a pose

For more than 20 years, Mi Piaci has been designing quality footwear for women, by women. Their latest collection ‘In Focus’ drew inspiration from the ‘muse’ in all of us, emphasised by their decision to feature some of their own customers in the collection’s campaign, who were discovered through an open casting call. Like all of the brand’s designs, the new collection touches on trends while staying true to the brand’s core DNA — welcoming a smattering of contemporary and nostalgic styles which invite you to step confidently into the next season. Whether it’s a dainty kitten heel or a hardworking loafer your wardrobe is in need of, this range has it. Though we will no doubt be turning our attention towards the covetable curation of boots now on offer.

4. Spread joy

Celebrating perfection, friendship, and loyalty this Lunar New Year is high-end Japanese beauty brand Shiseido who have generously released their award-winning Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate serum in a two-for-one gift set. This lightweight formula is known to visibly reduce signs of ageing, enhance smoothness and boost radiance in just 3 days. Alongside this exclusive offering, Shiseido has also crafted a lucky temari ball for good fortune in the Year of the Dragon. Handmade over three days using yellow, red, and gold thread, temari balls are traditionally given in Japan as New Year’s gifts.

5. Don’t go breaking my heart

Landing just in time to fulfil any last minute gifting needs for Valentine’s Day is Stolen Girlfriends Club’s latest jewellery collection, ‘Crooked Hearts’. Imbued with the brand’s distinctive punk spirit, the range delves into the  themes of love and survival, where details like taloned hearts and flowers intertwine in striking contrast. At the heart of this collection are its hero shattered heart designs — a series of pieces showcasing clusters of onyx stones which form an asymmetrical and artfully ‘broken’ heart. Complemented by a wider selection of fresh and androgynous pieces including chain necklaces and statement sovereign rings, this collection offers the perfect opportunity to tell your own love story.
