We’re indulging in treats of all varieties this week. Read: a pain au chocolat from Daily Bread’s brand new store, a sartorial addition from Friend of Audrey, a simple face massage using Dermalogica’s new Stabilising Repair Cream, and more...

1. Très chic

As the exclusive New Zealand stockists of esteemed international labels such as Christian Louboutin and Alaïa, Parnell-based department store Faradays has become our go-to destination for all things lavish and luxury. This week, they are adding to their already impressive array of offerings with the arrival of CELINE, the coveted French maison. Selected to be the exclusive purveyor of CELINE’s complete ready-to-wear and accessories collections in New Zealand, Faradays will stock seasonal collections from the brand, in addition to a range of core pieces (including the sought after Triomphe leather goods line). “Having CELINE joining our family of designers ushers in a new era for Faradays, with an offering that hits all the right notes of cult-status CELINE products, as well as fresh unseen treasures that we know will delight long-time lovers of the brand,” says Faradays co-founder and Creative Director Constance von Dadelszen. Ahead of the public launch on August 18th, the FQ team was invited to peruse the new collections in person, over a glass of champagne from Faradays’ decadent bar, of course. From exquisite tailored pieces to petite leather goods, CELINE will be a welcome addition to this fashion sanctuary.

The CELINE collections will be available to shop from Friday 18th August.

2. Let’s get this bread

For those who call Tāmaki Makaurau home or are frequent visitors, it’s highly likely that you’ve sampled Daily Bread’s delightful pastries and top-notch coffee. With six existing locations scattered around the city, the chain will be extending its footprint with a seventh location, a new spacious gem nestled between Galway and Customs Street in Britomart. Replicating the cool, minimalistic feel that characterises its existing stores, the chic new establishment is located in a 300-square-metre heritage building which has been renovated to feature a combination of exposed brick, wood, and stone textures. Now standing as the largest Daily Bread store, the space will have capacity to seat up to 120 people. As for its food and beverage offerings, while continuing to dish out its decadent pastries and signature baked loaves, the new licensed location will also be introducing a selection of wine, beer, and cocktails as well as a made-to-order, a-la-carte menu for those seeking a tasty sit-down meal.

The new store will be open to the public from the 18th of August. Head down to 13 Galway Street, Auckland CBD to try it for yourself.

3. Hazy days

As days begin to warm and evenings grow longer, the promise of summer draws ever closer here in Aotearoa, making it a suitable time to consider your wardrobe for the coming seasons. One brand that is making this transition all the more easy is Australian label Friend of Audrey, whose spring/summer ’23 collection has just landed online. Inspired by the many striking natural Australian landscapes, the new collection features an assortment of earthy neutrals, with pops of azure blue and hot pink as a refreshing palate cleanser. Joining their signature cotton shirting, SS23 will debut a medley of linens and lightweight knits as well as some structured tailoring to add shape to your ensembles. Designed to be layered together and worn from day to night, this collection serves as an excellent starting point for building your summer wardrobe.

Drop one of the collection is available online now.

4. All about that face

Amidst a global surge in skin sensitivity affecting up to 70% of individuals, the pursuit of effective solutions has become an increasing priority. Sensitivity, whether rooted in genetics or brought on by lifestyle and environmental factors, often stems from a compromised skin barrier in need of revitalisation. In an effort to change this, Dermalogica’s new Stabilising Repair Cream is clinically formulated to help stop sensitive skin in the span of a week by reducing redness, irritation and itchiness. With a blend of botanical ingredients such as Lactobacillus Ferment, Soothing Cica, Resurrection Plant and Tasmania Lanceolota Extract, the cream helps to hydrate and soothe simultaneously while strengthening and repairing your skin’s barrier.

Dermalogica Stabilising Repair Cream is available now at dermalogica.co.nz

5.  Wine o’clock

There’s nothing more enticing on a cool winter’s eve than a rich glass of Central Otago Pinot Noir. Known for their premium wines of intense varietal characteristics, Rockburn has just debuted their latest Barrel Series – the Rockburn Eleven Barrels Parkburn Pinot Noir 2022 and Rockburn Twelve Barrels Gibbston Pinot Noir 2022. Born from a meticulous process, each wine is aged in French oak barrels for at least ten months before being bottled. Both single vineyard wines, the Eleven Barrels Parkburn Vineyard Pinot Noir envelops the senses in a velvety darkness, with notes of black cherry, thyme, and ripe plum, while the Twelve Barrels Gibbston Vineyard Pinot Noir reveals a deeper, oakier profile, with notes of bramble fruit, truffle, and cedar char. Designed as perfect companions to your favourite hearty dishes such as duck, lamb, and venison, consider hosting your next dinner party with a bottle or two on hand.

Both wines are available now from all leading fine wine retailers.
