With autumn officially underway, we’re giving ourselves permission to indulge in a bit of retail therapy with the latest drops from Yu Mei, Dr. LeWinn’s, Mama’s Brew Shop, La Tribe and BAINA.

1. Glow on

As we start feeling the autumn chill, it’s time to give our skin some much-needed hydration. Before reaching for our moisturiser, we like to layer on the serums, and it comes as no surprise that Dr. LeWinn’s is at the top of our list. Their Serum Series – which comes in ‘Hydrate’, ‘Glow’ and ‘Renew’ – are clinically proven formulations that each contain a high-performing skincare ingredient (Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C, respectively). Ideal for targeting an array of skin concerns, these serums are oil and alcohol free and packed with other top tier ingredients to give you the best possible results.

Dr. LeWinn’s Serum Series Hydrate Serum 30ml, $79.99
Dr. LeWinn’s Serum Series Glow Serum 30ml, $79.99
Dr. LeWinn’s Serum Series Renew Serum 30ml, $79.99

Yu Mei Collection AW23

2. Utilitarian Core

Practical, understated luxury is at the core of Yu Mei’s newest collection, ‘A New Day Breaks’. Continuing on with their seasonless approach to design, this collection features many of the brand’s signature styles, including the ‘Braidy Bag’ and ‘Milly Bag’ in an array of pumice, coffee, and vivid blue tones that are reminiscent of nature. Valuing both function and form, there is a bag to suit all needs – from the structured and utilitarian Charlie Bag, to the playful and petite Scrunchie Vi Bag.

With their continued endeavours towards promoting a circular design and consumption model that minimises waste, this collection will feature Yu Mei’s sustainably-sourced deep nappa farmed in the South Island of Aotearoa – a signature material of the brand.

In wake of the recent devastation to Hawkes Bay, Yu Mei will also be donating 10% of the sales from the ‘Day Blue’ colourway for March to the Hawke’s Bay Foundation.

The collection is available to shop online now at yumeibrand.com

Mama's Brew Shop Hard Kombucha

3. Absolutely fizzing

It’s happy hour at FQ, and this week we’re reaching for a tipple that’s good for the gut and the palate. Mama’s Brew Shop have just launched the latest product in their kombucha line, ‘Happy Hour Hard Kombucha’, an alcoholic version of traditional kombucha that is crafted using a double fermentation process. Unlike other alcoholic kombucha brands on the market that use a spirit base, the alcohol in Hard Kombucha comes from the addition of champagne yeast, which turns the kombucha’s sugars into alcohol, resulting in a light ABV of 4.5%. For those who want to enjoy their alcohol without the high sugar content and hangover, this is just the ticket. “Happy Hour Hard Kombucha delivers great flavour with less than 1g of sugar per can. We’ve found it’s a great option for people who want to make the most of Saturday night and Sunday morning,” says founder Liv McGregor.

Currently available from your local supermarket or liquor store in Lemongrass and Ginger and Lavender and Hibiscus flavours. (The latter being our favourite come 5pm to enjoy the last of the day’s rays).
