The newly-released 2022 Sauvignon Blanc from Cloudy Bay.

You can retire your coats and cashmere as early as you wish but as far as a seasonal shift is concerned, summer doesn’t start until you’ve experienced your first taste of this year’s vintage.

We’re talking about the 2022 Sauvignon Blanc from Cloudy Bay.

As purveyors of all things aesthetic and elegant, believe us when we say the updated bottle design provides a tactile experience from chiller to table (and a chic addition to your tablescape).

Featuring an embossed glass motif of the brand’s iconic mountains and a canvas-feel paper stock label with a die-cut silhouette of the Richmond Ranges, the 2022 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc is elevated dining personified and the perfect partner to join you at your next gathering.

Cloudy Bay’s 2022 Sauvignon Blanc is a non-negotiable for the impending spring/summer season.

Tried and tasted at The Shack, a private residence situated in Cloudy Bay’s Marlborough winery, friends of the brand came together to enjoy an intimate afternoon of fine food prepared by local artisans and to experience the new bottle design and 2022 vintage, presented by senior winemaker Nikolai St George.

Although the latest vintage may attract the palates of globe-trotting epicures, the beauty of Cloudy Bay’s 2022 Sauvignon is its ability to appeal to everyone at the table, offering a unique sensibility which transcends expectations.

Friends of Cloudy Bay gathered over an intimate lunch to try the 2022 Sauvignon Blanc at The Shack.

Traversing its way from vineyards planted in Wairau Valley’s Rapaura, Renwick and Brancott Valley sub-regions, this zesty offering is abundant, varied and vibrant, possessing juicy citrus and makrut lime underpinned by subtle white nectarine and passionfruit notes.

These mouth-watering flavours of citrus and passionfruit at the fore meld with tropical hints of peach and guava, gently balanced by stony saline notes owing to the area’s warm, dry maritime climate.

So, if you prefer your Sauvignon like the British do their humour – dry – you’ll appreciate the intense palate, sans the sweetness, making it a natural match for almost any seafood. Think: tempura oysters, locally-caught sashimi, and steamed mussels with garlic, citrus and parsley.

If quality moments shared over delectable food and even finer company are the backdrop to your most valued memories, then Cloudy Bay’s 2022 Sauvignon Blanc is a non-negotiable for the impending spring/summer season.

Moments of togetherness don’t always happen by accident but we know for certain what we’ll have lightly chilled and on standby for when they do…
