If you want a low slung ponytail with a 1920s side swept front like the style actress Dianne Kruger wore to an Oscars party… here’s how:
“I was inspired by Dianne’s amazing outfit. I loved the flowy top and I wanted to create the same movement with the hair,” says celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel.
- I started by parting hair into a deep side part. A great trick is following the highest arch of your brow to make the part. Then I applied Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse, $50, from roots to ends.
- I rough-dried the hair with my hands until it was 100% dry. Next I took small sections of hair and curled them with a ½” barrel curling iron. I continued this all over the head until all of the hair was completely curled. I then sprayed Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong, $45, to set the hair.
- Once cooled, I brushed the hair smooth with Moroccanoil Boar Bristle Classic Brush, $95, and created height at the crown by back combing that area.
- Then pulled the hair tight on one side and secured with a ponytail. I took a tiny section of hair from underneath the ponytail and wrapped it around the ponytail to cover the elastic. I let the other side of the hair cascade down into a 1920’s wave.
- I finished the look by smoothing the hair with Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream, $62.50, and then locked in the style with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong, $45.
