1. CHANEL Cruise 2021/22
Inspired by Jean Cocteau’s black and white film Testament of Orpheus, Chanel Cruise 2021/22 is a study of balance and contrast, showcasing a distinct two-tone collection of bright white and deep black that captures and reflects the light.
The house’s signature tweed and classic tailoring are paired with floral designs and bold graphic prints. Ultimately, creative director Virginie Viard showcases the ladylike sensibility that Chanel is renowned for, with a rock and roll edge that echoes the work of Cocteau, a French cultural icon and close friend of Gabrielle Chanel herself.
The collection debuted at the Carrières de Lumières (Quarries of Light) in Les Baux-de-Provence, a former stone quarry providing both light and shadow against an expansive backdrop. Captivating until the very end, models marked the finale by releasing doves into the sky.

2. Penny Sage + Misma Anaru sample sale
Made-in-New Zealand label Penny Sage is having a sample sale on Saturday 8 May from 10am to 4pm, and you’re invited!
We’re delighted to hear that there’ll be an array of press samples, seconds, and past season pieces on offer. 3. International Sauvignon Blanc Day - Friday 7 May
This Friday, we’re raising our glasses to Sauvignon Blanc, a lush and aromatic variety of wine that has helped put New Zealand wine in the global spotlight.
Sauvignon Blanc is produced across many regions in New Zealand, including Marlborough, Nelson, Hawke’s Bay and Central Otago. Northern styles are riper and richer due to the warmer and milder conditions, whereas styles hailing from the south are more vibrant with higher acidity levels.

4. Auckland Writer's Festival: Garance Doré
We’re thrilled that fashion illustrator, photographer and blogger Garance Doré is making a virtual appearance at the Auckland Writer’s Festival later this month!
Officially retiring from the industry in 2015 after publishing New York Times Bestseller Love Style Life, Doré pens her musings online, providing us with endless style inspiration and words that spark moments of self-reflection.
A question of style: Garance Doré is being held on Friday 14 May at the Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre, where she will talk with Wendy Petrie about her writing and her personal growth as a woman and artist.
