Gucci Mane for Gucci Cruise 2020


Gucci throws the best parties — but their Cruise 2020 ad campaign looks like the best one yet.

It was bound to happen: Gucci Mane has been tapped by the brand he borrowed his stage name from, to front their latest campaign #ComeAsYouAre_RSVP.

The rapper-actor joins other recognisable faces, including Iggy Pop and Sienna Miller, to party it up large at Villa La Furibonda in Rome, wearing pieces from the latest Cruise 2020 collection. And by party up large, we mean this party is epic — by any standard.

Whether their arrival is by helicopter or by limousine à la Iggy Pop, all the guests gather together at the villa in unexpected and delightful ways: in the swimming pool, in the living room and even in the bath in Gucci Mane’s case; the Cruise 2020 collection showcasing the limitless power of clothing to be able to express yourself and be who you want to be, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation or social status. Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele’s vision and celebration of inclusivity, equality and eccentricity has never been more apparent… and we want in.

Joining the famous trio of Iggy, Gucci and Sienna are Italian actor-model Benedetta Barzini, real-life Countess Marisela Federici, Italian artists Orlando Miani and Angelo Bucarelli and a couple of adorable scene-stealing dachshunds to round things out.

Gucci Cruise 2020 was presented at Musei Capitolini in Rome earlier this year, the collection drawing inspiration from the Italian city Michele holds dear to his heart, having spent a good deal of time in Rome during his youth.

Directed and photographed by Harmony Korine (the same director behind Spring Breakers, which featured Gucci Mane), with art direction by Christopher Simmonds and styled and creative directed by Michele himself, the images and video perfectly capture the beautiful cacophony of colour and confusion.

“Gucci is a party and everyone is invited” the press release says. Well, we are RSVPing ‘yes’ to this one.
