Paris Mitchell Temple and Georgia Cherrie are the well-travelled duo behind label Paris Georgia, this year’s Mercedes-Benz Presents designer at NZ Fashion Week. They share their travel tips.
Their flying uniform:
Paris: I take flying (or shall I say comfort) very seriously. I wear a Wixii cashmere tracksuit – cashmere travels so well, it’s light, warm and still looks chic under a trench or coat.
Georgia: I love my Wixii cashmere cotton track pants and oversized knit jumper. They keep me feeling comfortable and fresh on any long-haul flight.
In air rituals:
Paris: I’m afraid to share this and to come across completely neurotic, but a friend introduced me to the HumidiFlyer mask. It enables the air you breathe to remain moist, preventing dehydration (along with drinking plenty of water) that contributes to jet lag and picking up infections/bugs.
Georgia: I take a liquid vitamin sachet every 4-5 hours; it helps fight off any nasty bugs on those long-hauls.
Their skincare routine:
Paris: Bioderma cleanser from Inès is a lifesaver. It comes in a travel size and keeps my skin cleansed when flying. I always pack a Syrene eye gel as their products are so light and refreshing. And depending on the length of the flight, I’m not opposed to doing a face mask. Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask is a clear mask that keeps my face hydrated and plump.
Georgia: The Syrene travel pack is my go-to. I apply a thick layer of their hydration mask and wake up feeling dewy and glowy.
Their last trip:
Paris: A magical three-week vacation through Italy, ending in Tel Aviv, Israel. We began our trip in Venice, supporting my brother Dane – he was New Zealand’s Venice Art Biennale representative for 2019. His exhibition was so moving and it was very special to be there at his opening.
Georgia: New York – my second favourite city in the world.
Dream trip:
Paris: Any new adventure. Colourful cities with interesting architecture and galleries would always be at the top of my list. Following the sunshine is also important. At the moment I would have to say Brazil, Mexico and South Africa are three countries I’m dying to visit.
Georgia: Tel Aviv. Paris has inspired me to go.
Best food city:
Paris: My husband owns a neighbourhood wine bar called Annabel’s in Auckland, and loves to seek out local food and wine places wherever we go. La Marina in Ponza, Italy, was the best find on our last trip. We ate the most delectable Italian feast and were entertained by the wild boys in the kitchen. The menu changes from day to day. Post-lunch, you can swim and lie on the beach next door.
Georgia: New York. It has the best of everything.
