Long-standing New Zealand designer Turet Knuefermann has been named the ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ designer for New Zealand Fashion Week 2018.
After 13 years of empowering Kiwi women with elegant, timeless and quality designs, German-born, New Zealand-raised Knuefermann has taken out the coveted spot of kicking off New Zealand Fashion Week for 2018.
“Turet has an innate ability to get to the core of what her customers desire, producing garments that stand the test of time. Much like Mercedes-Benz, Turet takes great pride in creating modern designs, and setting trends that remain relevant for years to come,” says Ben Giffin, General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Cars New Zealand.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the accolade, ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ is a global initiative honouring designers who display innovative design and use high quality materials. Knuefermann joins the ranks of former global recipients Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Camilla and Marc and Dion Lee, and previous New Zealand recipients which include Dame Trelise Cooper, Kate Sylvester, Harman Grubiša and Zambesi.
Knuefermann will open New Zealand Fashion Week this year on 27 August 2018.
