Sneaker head or not, a pair of Reebok sneakers should be the next addition to your wardrobe.
With the rise in athleisure over the last couple of years and the spotlight firmly planted on women’s rights right now, it’s no surprise that both trend and value has trickled into the fashion industry. Cult classic exercise brand Reebok has been leading the charge for some time now, releasing a wide range of very desirable fitness pieces all while championing females.
The brand’s latest sneaker release is the perfect example — and quite frankly has us all running for our wallet. The third Flexweave silhouette—the Fusion Flexweave—sees the perfect combination of style and functionality with said shoe answering a myriad of our fashion footwear prayers. With a floatride cushioned midsole and durable yet flexible support system, we can see ourselves rocking this shoe to the gym and then hitting the streets for a girls day out with the perfect level of nonchalant style.
Introduced by Ariana Grande (#girlcrush alert), Reebok’s core values are supported by the singer whose upbeat music and determination towards self-love and health are just an added selling point. Ariana joins other esteemed Reebok ambassador alumni, including Gigi Hadid and Gal Gadot.
Our girl Gigi has not only appeared in a number of standout Reebok campaigns, but has created some very enviable street style moments, indicating just how athleisure can be taken stylishly to the streets and in the process, inspiring us all to follow suit. Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot is also a perfect fit being literally the embodiment of the brand’s values of female empowerment by encouraging women to embrace exercise and be the best version of themselves. The former Miss Israel even served two years in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat instructor, so you know she is the real deal.
Then there’s the new kid on the block: A face you’ll probably recognise from Game of Thrones, Nathalie Emmanuel has recently joined the power-packed line-up of Reebok women. An engaged feminist and civil rights activist, Nathalie is the perfect embodiment of the brands’ new core all-female initiative who is continuing to tell this exciting story.
This powerful female contingent aren’t content to just front the brand’s campaigns either – some of them are even getting involved in the product development side of things. Designer (and all-round GB) Victoria Beckham partnered with Reebok earlier this year to design a collection of shoes which is expected to launch in late 2018. Summing up the experience, VB said: “It’s incredibly exciting to work with such an iconic brand that epitomises my belief in encouraging women to be the best version of themselves.” We couldn’t agree more.
Amazing athleisure wear? Check! Inspirational role models and It-girls who actually pack a punch? Check! And a brand identity formed around encouraging women to be their best selves? Definitely one we can get behind! Reebok, you’re on fire.
