London street style in one word? Resplendent.
London is the cosmopolitan hub for mixing high street with high end, prints with patterns and colours with texture. Their approach to street style is relentless (we mean that in a good way, promise!) and knows no bounds in the face of traditional dressing. Which is kind of ironic when you think of the nation’s regal heritage, don’t you agree?
Richly colourful and seemingly unphased by opinion or conventional-ism, Londoners simply do it the best when it comes to wearing what they love, irrespective of fit or cohesion to the supporting garments. For example, in London, the prevalence of check and tartan seen in palatable placements on the streets at New York Fashion week collides with an explosion of neon colour, floral prints, and oh-so-British wet weather gear.
There’s a nod to the current obsession with tonal dressing AKA all-one-colour outfits (namely red), the street style staples c/o Off-White’s ‘Sculpture’ tote, Loewe’s woven leather tote and sharply pointed toe slingbacks and boots, all meshed with the downright daring individualism that London is relied upon to dish up.
