Get ready to par-tay!
One of the biggest days in the Auckland music calendar, Auckland City Limits (ACL) is a must-do for all music lovers with its wide range of musical acts. Whether you’re planning on heading to the festival with your closest friend in tow or arrive surrounded by a bunch of pals, preparation is key to ensuring you have a unforgettable and enjoyable day.
To make sure it’s memorable for all the RIGHT reasons (you have been warned, an unplanned day can quickly go south thanks to dehydration and sunburn) we’ve compiled everything you need to know to ensure you actually get to enjoy the music and the day’s festivities.
Where is it?
Sprawling out amongst nature, ACL finds the perfect festival home in Western Springs. Not only does it provide some of the most picturesque surroundings, but there’s also plenty of shade and space to jam pack in as many bands, food and drink vendors as possible.
And while Western Springs is very easy to find, getting around ACL will require a bit more study. Key to making the most of the event is the below venue map which will help you know where to be and at what time, the best route to take you there and where you can find all the food and drink you need – because refreshments are essential.
Use the below or do one better and download the ACL app, which has handy info including the venue map which will keep you and your friends in the loop for the entire day.
What to wear:
It may be March but this festival is still bound to get HOT. So come prepared by wearing not only your coolest “I’m with the band” outfit, but also something that is functional and comfortable. If you’re stuck for ideas, why not take notes from our street style gallery from Laneway Festival 2018? Alternatively if you’re a super-fan, you might want to consider wearing the ACL merch…?

Lineup:
We highly recommend grabbing your friends beforehand to create a custom master schedule for the day. You may have to make some compromises on the bands you’ll all see but ideally there should be a win in it for everyone. See the schedule below to determine who is playing where and when.
