It’s less casual but cooler than candid
We’ve had barbed wire brows and cellfies taking over our feeds, and who could forget the ‘ab crack’ trend which was the new ‘thigh gap’? But forget all that, there’s officially a new It pose in town and it’s isn’t just reserved for the Insta-famous among us. In fact, chances are that we’ve all been doing attempting it for a while now, but it finally has a name: meet ‘plandid’, or the planned candid. It’s like being unknowingly street style snapped without the paparazzi… and you set it up yourself.
It’s the snap that says, “Oh, you’re taking a photo of me? I had no idea!” But really, BTS, your Insta hubby is stressing the F out, trying his best to get ‘the one’ so he doesn’t have to take the shot again. “I’m just gonna act natural,” you explain… as you hide behind your fringe, looking down at the ground laughing to yourself because taking a photo is that damn funny.
All in the name of having an on-point Instagram game, amiright? Yeah, babes, you’re being plandid.
Our favourite casually plandid moments include the ‘walk past the camera’, ‘laughing to myself’ and the ‘staring longingly into the distance’. And like most Instagrams, if you’re trying to hit above one hundy double-taps, plandid will obvs work best while on holiday in Europe – or with your bestie so you don’t feel super awks.
Plandid, like every other trend on Insta, began with the likes of the Jenners and the Hadids, but if you look closely at some of your favourite grammers, you’ll notice v quickly how prominent this pose is on their feeds too. Have we finally cracked the secret to thousands of followers? We are *so* getting amongst being plandid.
