5 things we loved this week

20 January 2026
By Sophie de Renzy

From sun-soaked new arrivals from Ruby and playful Oosterom spots to Mahsa’s easy summer shapes and Bridgerton-inspired jewellery, here's what the FQ team are coveting this week.

1. Coming home

Aotearoa label Mahsa returns with its tenth mood, Coming Home. Shot at a sun-worn bach above Whale Bay in Raglan, the campaign leans into the comfort of familiar places and unhurried days. There’s sunlight on soft fabrics, the ocean just beyond view, wildflowers resting on the table. Key pieces like the Bon Ruffle Blouse, Field Skirt and Dune Shirt feel made for summer living. Timeless shapes designed to be worn, loved and lived in.

2. Everyday, reimagined

Maison Balzac’s latest launch plays with the idea that objects don’t always need to be taken at face value. Inspired by 1920s surrealism, the 2026 collection nods to Salvador Dalí and Elsa Schiaparelli, reworking familiar forms with a light touch. There’s a sense of ease and play throughout, designed for everyday use rather than display. Imaginative and just unexpected enough. Consider it already added to cart.

3. Dots for days

Polka dots remain a summer favourite, and beloved Tāmaki Makaruau brand Oosterom has just dropped a capsule collection that proves why. Navy and white dots take over shirts, skirts and tops, striking the perfect balance between playful and polished. Light, wearable shapes make layering effortless, while the print keeps things fun. Available now for pre-order, the collection officially lands in late January, set to become your go-to summer staples.

4. A Regency romance

Pandora enters the world of Bridgerton with Rules to Love By, a 14-piece jewellery collection inspired by the show’s playful approach to romance and self-expression. Drawing on Regency-era motifs, the range reworks pearls, bows and florals into modern, wearable pieces designed for layering. From subtle ear climbers to charm details that nod to the series’ wit, the collection balances fantasy with everyday styling. Rules to Love By is arriving in Pandora stores and online later this week.

5. A summer worth revisiting

Ruby’s first collection for 2026, Lagoon, revisits a summer not quite finished. Drawing on the most-loved silhouettes from the brand’s last Resort collection, the edit reframes them in familiar seasonal tones: blue from yesterday’s swim, coral from a late-afternoon drink, merlot as the day cools, and green to keep things sharp. A continuation rather than a conclusion. Shop Lagoon’s first arrivals in store and online now.
