5 things we loved this week

A new wellness destination opens its doors in Auckland, RAAIE redefines hydration, and Dominique Healy captures the essence of spring. These are the names on our radar this week - and firmly on our wishlist.

1. Beyond the veil

Jasmin Sparrow is continuing the story first told through ‘Siren’ – the large-scale pearl installation created with long-time friend and artist Jade Townsend for New Zealand Fashion Week 2025, with a curated edit of pieces. From this work come the Veil Necklace, a piece designed to be worn in multiple ways and made with irregular pearls knotted onto black silk, and the radiant Pearl Earring. These pieces sit alongside the Midnight Necklace and Midnight Earrings, offering a more gothic approach to design. The necklace is crafted from weighted onyx beads, while the earrings reimagine a ’60s drop silhouette in black onyx and sterling silver. These pieces embody Sparrow’s ongoing exploration of jewellery as both art and heirloom and are available to shop now.

2. RAAIE redefines hydration

RAAIE introduces its most anticipated launch yet – the Tranquility Water Activating Mist. Yes, the product that took over NZFW is finally here. Less of a refresher, more of a skincare step in its own right, this ultra-fine, thermal water-based mist does more than sit on the surface. It sinks in fast, leaving skin noticeably plumper, calmer, and better prepped for whatever follows. The formula is thoughtful: volcanic water from the West Coast, mānuka, and kawakawa extracts, plus bioactives from subantarctic algae. A next-generation essence–toner hybrid, it’s formulated to make hydration feel deeper and longer-lasting, perfectly timed for the season ahead.

3. Introducing Cora

Cora has opened its doors in Grey Lynn, introducing a design-led wellness studio created exclusively for women and the LGBTQ+ community. Founded by Mibella Villafana, the space redefines holistic wellbeing with a curated blend of reformer pilates, contrast therapy, restorative IV treatments, and an upstairs art gallery in collaboration with Föenander Gallery. More than a studio, Cora is an urban sanctuary where movement meets stillness, and community is at its core.

4. Like a lady

Dominique Healy’s new resort collection arrives with softness and strength in equal measure. Crafted in her Mt Eden workroom, the pieces are a subdued triumph of sensual textiles including sheer cotton voile, broderie anglaise, and languid silk satins. Her signature palette of black, espresso, ivory, and baby blue is offset by springtime notes of citrus, celadon, and nectar. This is resort wear made for the every day, elevated and effortless.

5. A celestial scent

Aesop unveils Above Us Steorra, a bold new Eau de Parfum blending radiant Amber with a streak of Cardamom. Created with perfumer Céline Barel, the fragrance draws inspiration from a poem, night sky imagery, and hues of amber. A visit to Aesop’s Collins Street store, with its starry ceiling of crushed bottles, sparked the concept of a ‘Celestial Amber.’ Complex, spicy, and luminous, the scent captures the awe of stargazing and the mystery of the unknown. Incandescent and transportive, Above Us, Steorra reflects Aesop’s nonconformist spirit and redefines the amber fragrance landscape.
