5 things we loved this week

Peruse these elevated pieces from Camilla and Marc, Ciao Lucia and Deji Studios, plus festival fashion and a new arrival from ghd.

1. Fragrant fashion

Camilla and Marc has unveiled the first drop of their fragrant Autumn Winter 25 collection. Taking inspiration from the intricacy of antique perfume bottles, the collection is a multi-layered exploration to light, texture and mood. Bringing the nature of fragrance to life with liquid-inspired textures and intricate details, the collection features layered mesh tops, structured tailoring and textural elements in a palette of soft pastels, muted chestnut browns and rich, dramatic tones. “Reminiscent of the precious intricacies of everyday moments that leave an indelible mark on who we are,” comments creative director Camilla Freeman-Topper, “[The collection] is an entry point into the notion that there is always more than the eye… look beyond the clothes and into the preciousness within.”

2. Pockets, pockets, pockets

Byron Bay-based brand Deiji Studios is well-known for their vast Japanese-inspired catalogue but what’s grabbed our eye this week is their Pocket Pants. The definition of an elevated basic, this traditionally masculine cargo silhouette boasts a feminine twist, featuring a bow securing a design fold and multiple pocket details all over – some faux, some real, all chic. The pants are available in ‘wood’, a charcoal brown colourway, and ‘musk’, a beautiful sunset rose, both made of 100% organic cotton. The best part? They can fit into any aesthetic; style them with a streetwear sneaker, to and from the beach over your swimwear, or as an interesting spin on a traditional corporate pant come Casual Friday – these Pocket Pants do it all.

3. Coming up rose-tte’s

We have roses on our minds this week thanks to Ciao Lucia’s romantic Neroni Dress in Black Rosette. Featuring a fitted bodice, a full-skirt, and rosette detailing at the princess waistline, this sophisticated dress perfectly captures the nostalgic 60s aesthetic that is a signature for the LA-based brand. Designed to capture the feeling of being “on eternal vacation”, the brand has earned a spot in the wardrobes of the next generation of cool girls, including Kaia Gerber, Gracie Abrams and Olivia Rodrigo. Whether worn at a summer wedding, bottomless brunch or holidaying on the Amalfi Coast, this dress is made for living la dolce vita.

4. You’re so Julia

Tāmaki Makaurau, we’ve waited long enough… But #bratsummer is finally upon us. With Laneway Festival finally hitting our shores this Waitangi Day, we’ve been crushing on festival fashion trends all week. From Charli XCX- inspired ’fits that favour corset tops, sporty sunglasses, jorts and neon green accessories, to preppy vibes with floral summer dresses, pleated skirts and Ganni-esque ruched blouses á la Olivia Dean and Clairo, there’s an aesthetic to suit every sartorial style. Too Gen Z for comfort? You can’t go wrong channeling Alexa Chung at Glastonbury pairing a slip dress with knee-high socks and Hunter gumboots. No matter what you wear to Laneway, make sure you pair your look with the best accessory of all: Factor 50+ SPF.
